Harry's

Used to use Gillette's blades and gave Harry's a try...haven't gone back. Much better shave and fraction of the cost, plus they automatically send 2 boxes of blades every few months.

Remington electric. Fifty years of shaving and it's all I've ever used. Started out with Schick flexomatic. For me, all that other crap is just that, crap. FCC.

My Harry's will arrive any day but it's not going to be a "much better shave" than Gillette, I know that already.

Just curious what others use...........

Myself , a D.E. safety razor , feather brand blades , and Taylor of old bond street creme .

What ya got ?
Harry's razor...shave head and neck. I have a beard and recently bought a micro touch shaver/trimmer and l love it for my beard. Use Nivea shave cream. Just recently started virgin coconut oil for after shave. Only takes a very little and is great for that and is a great hand cream

Or, you know, shave in the shower in 30 seconds under hot water

Yeah, I shave with 3-blade disposables and a little soap (whichever kind I happen to have in the shower at the time) in the shower. Maybe 30 seconds total like Ron says. When I used to shave with cream, my skin was softer but it NEVER got as close as without the cream. My conspiracy theory of the day: shaving cream has an ingredient that promotes fast growth of facial hair, thus, you need to shave more. You can quote me on that.

I've tried 4- and 5-blades (heads are too big to get close around nose and under jawline), name brand and electric razors. Nothing so far has consistently beat a cheap 3-blade and soap in the shower. All those advertising dollars on those products are completely wasted on me.

I use whatever my wife bought at after Christmas sales. Usually Gillette or Nivea shave cream, face wash and after shave. Mach 3, Mach 5, Schick blades. Although right now I’m using Kirkland razors from Costco (really good value).

Merkur razors, have 3 but tend to use short handle more.
Astra Platinum DE blades
Taylor of Old Bond soap applied with brush.

The DE blades work well for me. The multi-blade disposable or cartridge razors break me out. So switched to this setup a few yrs ago. Less blades = less irritation.

Used to use Harry's. Now I use the Lawnmower 3.0 electric trimmer and the Plow 2.0 from manscaped.com promo code DRIVE.

Gillette all the way. Nothing is too pricey for this old beauty. Soften/moisten with hot, wet face cloth, then shave gel & Fusion. Blades last me a month or so. Never irritated other than on these boards.

I'm just curious as to why you bumped this thread. Did it show up on your page for because of some glitch or were you just sitting there and thought to yourself "Man, I forgot to post my shaving stuff in that thread from 4 and half years ago."?

Update for those concerned: I'm still shaving before I shower and maintain that anyone else with a differing opinion is asshoe.

That’s false bub. Always shave after a shower. Cuts much easier and with less irritation.
Does everyone shaving in the shower have a mirror in there? If so how do you keep it from fogging up? Or are you shaving blind without a mirror? Neither way seems ideal.

Mirror fogs up. Dab and rub a little shaving gel on it. Rinse off. No more fog.

If you save the shaving for last, it's still "after a shower", you're still in the heat/steam, so your hair is softer than getting out and doing it.
They make fog free mirrors specifically to be used in the shower.

Has anyone ever tried an Epilady on their face?

That would be the best but I ain't tuff enough to try.

I use disposable Gillette twin blades and whatever shaving cream.

I have very thick whiskers and this is the most cost effective way I've found to shave.
