For BDCS, the Architect's Studio Companion will get you in the right headspace and you can go from there.

For Building Systems, I read MEEB cover to cover - out loud. I used my iPhone to record myself reading each sub section (5-10 minutes).

At the beginning of each recording, I would give myself some audio context with a "reset" by saying the name of the test, title of reference material, chapter, section, and subsection. After each session, I would add these files to my iTunes library (edit the metadata to allow for easy sorting) and transfer them to my phone.

Then, I would listen playlists of myself reading study material, all day, for months. When I was "sick" of hearing about enthalpy for the 100th time (because I had it down pat) I knew I was ready to take the exam.

I had atypical experience when I took the exams, so I had to learn almost everything for those exams by reading it in books. You shouldn't have to do that.

Basically, read and retain everything in this book and you'll be set. It's simple.:

I didn't mention that I test for BDCS in 12 days. I've been reading fundamentals of building construction, also be Edward Allen. Do you think this will suffice? I started testing in march and have passed 5 in 5 tries to this point. I really don't want to reschedule it.

What is in the architect's studio companion? Is it worth having for general use?

It paints things in broad strokes for initial planning. It's OK, but I don't really use it much for what I do.

I think the illustrated code reference books are better to have - if you don't have them already.

step in tub, off white, most likely fiberglass or plastic, removable shower head, 3-4 flat spots along the sides of the tub to store shower accessories, great for being lazy and sitting down in the tub, laying back, and letting shower water rain down on me.

Shower stall. Double shower head for maximum wetness (giggity). Water heater turnt up high (this one goes to 11). Shower Radio, but about to be upgraded to bluetooth. Blurred shower door to give the wife just enough of a peek if she is so inclined (she's not).

Wa(r)shcloth and liquid body soap. Suave shampoo because eff my follicles. They've been ****** to me, so they deserve what they get.

Most importantly, a kickass shower drain, #youknowwhatimsayin

I'm going to go ahead and 3rd the sit/lay in a shower technique. If I ever design/build my own house, I am going to have a shower the size of a small bedroom and stock it with pool furniture.

Stand up shower. All of my wife's junk every where with about an inch section for my soap and shampoo. Cant take a shower without knocking 50 of her shower products off of the side. She keeps complaining that her loofa smells like pee. It would not get peed on if it could stay where she leaves it.

Tried the washcloth once but thought it seemed a lot dirtier as I had this fear it was absorbing all the **** and storing it. Loofa is okay every now and then, but really just a bar of dove soap for men is my go to.

I used bar soap for the first time in about 7 years recently and I felt like I was caked in cement all day.

I prefer bar soap too. Body wash is a joke. You're paying for water.
