Interested in the matchup between IC and St Francis. Spartans win it then 4A north is up for grabs
can RB keep this game close ? Might go check this one out Friday night
The Massey computer ratings have St. Francis winning the game by a score of 39-14. That sounds about right to me since St. Francis beat Bishop McNamara by 3 points and Riverside-Brookfield lost to Bishop McNamara by 30. Similarly, Riverside-Brookfield beat Aurora Christian by 2 points whereas St. Francis beat Aurora Christian by 43 points. I don't expect the game to be close, but you never know for sure.can RB keep this game close ? Might go check this one out Friday night
The Freeman computer ratings have IC Catholic as 14 points better than St. Francis. I certainly would not bet against a three-time defending state champion. However, the results of games against common opponents suggest St. Francis just might be able to keep it closer than 14 points. IC Catholic beat Bishop McNamara by 4 points, St. Francis beat them by 3. IC Catholic beat Wheaton Academy by 36 points, St. Francis beat them by 40. And IC Catholic beat Aurora Christian by 32 points, St. Francis beat Aurora Christian by 43 points. Whatever the outcome, it should be a fairly high scoring affair as St. Francis has not been held below 40 points all year. I would think something like IC Catholic 35, St. Francis 28.IC wins this one by 2 scores.
I think so. It is the northern half of the 4A bracket that will be a bear. The southern half should be rather weak. So it really depends on the following: at what point will they run into Rochester? If they have to play Rochester in the first or second round (which of course will depend on their respective seeds), then I do not foresee a deep run. But if they don't play Rochester until the quarterfinals or semifinals, then I think they will make a deep run (assuming the quarterfinals qualify as a deep run).Does McNamara have the depth to go on a deep run in 4A, given that in its three losses two were on TDs in the last 30 seconds and Coal City scored the insurance TD late in the 4th?

On a different thread Catch--22 has suggested Bishop McNamara may be slotted in the northern half of the bracket. If that happens then I do not see them making the quarterfinals.Does McNamara have the depth to go on a deep run in 4A, given that in its three losses two were on TDs in the last 30 seconds and Coal City scored the insurance TD late in the 4th?
