When is it going to be OK to have higher expectations for UK football?

The Sheep seem to be ok with 6-6 every year for the rest of time.

It was so much better when we were dominating the SEC, getting top 25 recruiting classes, with world class facilities. When did our fans stop settling for nothing but the best?

We could have easily had Saban or Meyer.

I'm not sure I see the supposed increased difficulty in the schedule. It's basically the same schedule except you trade a road game against Alabama for a home game against Ole Miss.

Swing games are almost all on the road next year. All the tougher non-winnable games (FL, UT, UL) are at home. So assuming UK does what it does best (losing to FL, UT and UL) then you are relying on us to win at Vandy, at SC, at MSU, @Southern Miss, etc. You also have @UGA, which we probably won't win. You do have Ole Miss and Missouri at home, I'd favor us over the latter, but not sure about the former as they have talent.

I think we can win 6 again, but I'm not sure where people are talking crazy with 8 (and apparently now even 9) wins.

Your reply is awful and says nothing because you have no argument. You whine about fan expectations being low for a historically garbage program, as if they should be anything else. You have absolutely no suggestion for how we get to being a force in the SEC outside of "get another coach". Please tell us all what we should do to win the SEC next year? And please be specific.

I'll keep saying it until it sinks into the U.K. Football casual fan.

To have a defense that is talented and two deep takes 8-10 years in the SEC. Since U.K. has no QB, that makes winning against good SEC teams an impossible task for Stoops or any coach at U.K.

Nope. That statement isn't close to correct.

Why bother with having a football program if expectations are always going to be 6-6 at best. 6-6 is a failure no matter how you look at it. Most reasonable and respectable coaches, players & fans would never settle for this losers mentally of settling for 6-6. Wtf People.

22 out of 49 the last two games, so receivers dropped 27 passes???
Why would I bother with someone who is so uncharitable as to try to pin me in a corner with literalism?

The validity of my point is contingent on whether I actually meant he literally hit every single one of his passes? He missed way fewer than they dropped. Stop being a pedant.

OK people, SJ is the best qb in the country, our wrs drop 15 passes per game.

Our oline pass blocks great just great

Defense has been lights out since Stoops took over the D just freaking great

Give Stoops 5 more years to get pkayera in here, build depth and figure out a scheme. Stop being so impatient people... We will be in a bowl on Dec 19 in lovely Birmingham against LA Tech

Progress people progress.

Next years schedule just doesn't line up well so be cool with 3 wins. We will have a freshman qb too, so the step back is all good

Blah blah blah blah

As for winning 8 next year....It's always a matter of how our schedule falls relative to where we play teams we should beat or have a good chance of beating. Those teams specifically would be Missouri, MSU, Vandy and USC. Unfortunately, we get MSU, Vandy and USC on the road thus reducing our chances of winning. We had our shot at UGA but they beat us at their place next year. We get UT, Fla, Ole Miss and Missouri at home. We will not beat UT or Fla. We have a shot at Ole Miss. We should beat Missouri. We lose to UGA on the road. That leaves our SEC record at 2-6 or 3-5 next year. Win 3 of 4 ooc games.

Next year's record 5-7 up to 6-6 ..... though we could be a better team.

UK actually looks like it belongs on the field with UT and UGA. Hard pressed to say UK was out manned by UT with 2 1st rounders on DL. We gashed them for 400+ rushing. That is a beat down to tenth degree. UK was better on OL, better at RB, equal in Secondary, as good at WR, UT has a great WR. DL is where UT is loaded, LBers better, Dobbs is a lot better but he is ok compared to great QB's. I remember many years with Tim Couch we were ten times worse at every position including his. UGA was a lot better on DL and LBer, but talent level and look is we belong, not that far off compared to the bad day. We have better players than Mizzou, Vanderbilt, S. Carolina, equal to Miss. St or look as good. UT is closer to UK than it is to Alabama. Rest of these teams are pretty much even with great QB's and DL.

UK needs to find a difference maker at QB, we have not had good QB play in so long that Mike Hartline is looking like Dan Marino in comparison.

This program needs some toughness number 1, number 2 and number 3. Geez with exception to best coached and best unit, OL. The rest of team is fragile, front runners, things going good, dance it up, tough have to be made plays, Sure TD pass against UGA, tackle UT runners, follow assignments. A fumble or int. against So. Miss. than we lay down like a whipped dog. It is Johnson not making that catch over the middle, it is the arm tackles, the LBers over running the play. Getting blocked and not getting off blocks. Badet dropping pass against UGA.

Get a dose of toughness and quit the blame game, quit blaming the fans, BB and injuries. Pitt, UL, Mich St. all are a lot tougher, the UL game last year was epitome of our program. We were celebrating it up with 21-0 and soon as they punch us in mouth we resort to fetal position and lay down. This is what is wrong with UK, toughen it up and get some tough hombres on there that say enough of the ridicule and the punking of us again on a Saturday.

I mean they could have won 2 of the last 3 against UT, UGA and Austin Peay Could have gone to a Florida bowl. Didn't look like on Defense they cared.
When UK players and coaches get tired of being punked and beaten every Saturday than you will continue to have these sort of feelings but until then no. It is time to infuse some tough in the program.

Our expectations have nothing directly to do with the performance on the field. Granted, fans do have a voice as is evident by FORCING mb to make a coaching change 4 years ago. If fans get to the point they will no longer buy tickets, mb again will be forced to make a change. Unfortunately, he has shown little ability or willingness to make a "based on winning only" hire. If we lose CMS, there is little chance we'd get anything more than another CMS.
Not sure if it's a matter of expectations, getting older, giving up, etc... but it's likely I'll reduce my season tickets from 3 to 2 next year. After 40 years of attending games, I'm no longer interested or willing to sit in the stadium, get excited about a potential win or anxious about whether or not we're going to blow another one (like the UGA game). It's less stressful to stay home, tune in and occasionally check the score and turn it off if/when it appears we're beaten.

Four years in, Stoops still hasn't beaten a team that finished with a winning record.

It has taken those same 4 years to barely make a bowl game, even when there are a thousand bowls and they started last year taking teams with a losing record.

Four years in, and the QB depth is as terrible as I've ever seen. We're having to start a 185 pound JUCO QB who had zero Power 5 offers.

Our defense still looks like something Mike Major, Mike Archer, and Rick Minter put together.

Do you guys care to let me know when it's going to be OK to raise my expectations for Kentucky football?

I don't want to upset my fellow fans by having unrealistic expectations.

Thanks.
Getting an ad that doesn't settle for this in year 4.
