post-dated check? Obviously, it’s unheard of now. And no one under 45 has probably ever heard of it.
However, when I worked in a IGA type store/gas station in the late 70’s, early 80’s, it was commonplace.

I remember the post-dated policy of the store I worked at, was 7 days max.

Many young people(20-25) have never even written a regular check. My son has to go and buy some checks to pay the rent on his new apartment because they are "old school" and don't mess with electronic withdrawal.

Last year, my #2 son had the same issue.

The landlord didn’t want to do billpay, so we wrote checks out of our(parents) account.

Stupidly, we mailed the first one to them and of course it was lost.


He has his own checks for this year.

If you have to use checks, Costco has them for half of what your bank charges.

I do it now & then for family member gifts.

Don't know why landlord wouldn't take electronic check mailed by bank. We do 10+/month.

Also write paper checks to have record of donations. About 10/year.

Did the liquor store on Euclid and Ashland take them from students in the 70s and 80s? I know they had a "bad check" poster behind the counter of people they would not take a check from, and I swear I knew 1/3 of them, at least, when I was in school.
