Where does this loss rank in UK History

I mean, its not like we lost 50-0 or anything like that. But this has to be at least in the top ten worst losses in UK history right? And I thought the Louisville collapse last year was bad. 34-0 in the second half is a disgrace. Easily the worst loss of the Stoops era.

Worst loss of the Stoops era was Vandy last year imo, but this ranks second. Stoops knew losing to Dawson Sat. would be a humiliating double whammy, had all spring, summer to prepare, yet still lost.

There's so many to choose from..this has to be up there with the lsu miracle though.
Honestly even though the bluegrass miracle sucked, I don't think it was as bad as how we lost tonight. Losing to LSU, even on a completely ridiculous hail mary attempt is more understandable than giving up 34 straight to Southern Miss. I'm not even a person who cries almost ever, but I had a few tears flowing after tonights game. I feel like any hope this program had is officially dead and its a terrible feeling. I feel hopeless.

Brand new state of the art facility.

Home game in year four of the coach during this era of massive expansion.

First game of the season against a mid major.

One of the worst losses in UK history end of story. I don't know where it ranks, but it's top 10 for sure.

For oldsters like me who have followed the Cats since the '70s, you've witnessed every manner of loss. There have been late-game collapses (Tulane in the Curci era, Bama in the Claiborne era, of course the Hail Mary pass by LSU). There have been blowouts to supposedly inferior teams (Ohio University.) This one ranks up there for bad losses since the game seemed well in hand. And the impact -- a hope-crushing season-opening loss. Usually the hope for a bowl lingers until mid or even October. This year.......

If you've been around UK football long enough, you know it's tough to even begin making lists like this. There've just been so many embarrassing losses it's tough to rank them--especially because most are games we try to erase from our memory.

But, fwiw, I think my No. 1 most embarrassing might be that game against Arkansas at the end of the Joker era--in the first half Arky ran up a 49-0 lead, and the game was so pathetic that midway through the 3rd quarter we decided to quit and cancel the rest of the game while blaming it on the rainstorm.

Seriously, that happened. Closest thing ever seen to the "mercy rule" in major college football. The first two and half quarters were just so unbearably awful that we decided the second half should not be played. This happened not in a little league or girls softball game, but in an SEC football game in the 21st century.

That Auburn game back in the 70s when there were accusations of a fix was pretty low. I have been a fan since the 50s and damn that is a LOT OF BAD FOOTBALL.

This is probably the 17th worse defeat in the long, frustrating line of UK football losses

Didn't have tears over this debacle of a game but I have never felt as low or down in the dumps as frustrated as I did last night. I just sat in the stadium with zero emotion in me as I watched in disbelief at what was happening in that 2nd half. I've been a fan for a long time and I honestly have never felt as low as I did last night. So, just based on the total low level feelings I was experiencing last night this was the worst game ever for me. We scored 35 friggin points in the first half and, at one point, had a 25 point lead and pulling away and it was like someone just pulled the power cord out of the socket. Just unbelievable and I walked out of the stadium without hardly a word I could think to say, I was that numb from what I just experienced. Never before felt that way.

Last night certainly wasn't bad in terms of a 65-0 beatdown like we suffered at the hands of Spurrier in 1996. But in terms of a squandered lead, it's one of the worst I can ever remember.

Not even top 10. Southern Miss could be ranked at the end of the season.
But the way we lost puts the icing on the cake for me. I'd much rather get beat by Florida
70-0 than think we have finally turned the corner and are pretty damn good, followed by a colossal collapse.

This is pretty much how I felt but last night may have been worse for me because at least LSU is a traditional power and last night was the very first game of the season. I'm afraid it's going to be a really long year.

most deflated i have ever felt leaving the stadium. we didnt just lose a game, we saw that what we are doing as a program isnt working. we lost the game, and our program.
