Where does this rank in comebacks?

I watched the 2001 games against Maryland, both the Miracle Minute and the Final Four game.

The 2001 Final Four game against the Twerps is still my favorite comeback ever because of the "lose and go home" reality of it.

Last nights game was very reminiscent to that game. With 6:40 left last night we were down 21! On the road.

I'm sure you guys will still say the Miracle Minute is the best comeback ever, but is it? I can't decide

I'm still stunned from last night, and 01 was amazing, but I'm going with the 2016 comeback against the Holes in the Dean dome. That one gets overlooked because we weren't a title contender, but coming from behind vs the Holes with the lineup we had that night?

Hard to appreciate any great moment through the lens of the past -- watching it, knowing that there is a great win or tragic loss is not the same as experiencing it in the moment.

I watched the Miracle Minute. It was stunning. I have never seen a basketball game where a single player just put the team on his back and won. Jay carved his legend in that game.

This comeback was different. It was the whole team -- everyone played their part. Goldwire, Reddish, Williams, Barrett, Jones, _everyone_.

I will say -- Goldwire and White were here all summer working out all summer. I think we saw what Goldwire had been doing at practice on the big stage. AND Cam Reddish -- we are now seeing what we thought we were lucky enough to get.

The Miracle Minute is the greatest ever! 10 points in 60 seconds!?!?! That’s unheard of.

I agree and disagree. Is it amazing, yes? but consider that merely sent it to overtime. This thing was won in regulation folks. Down 23 with 9:38, down 19 with 6:20. Computer models somewhere in this span gave UL a 99.99% chance to win. I have never seen anything like it and I have seen every Mike Krzyzewski team and a few before that.

Great comebacks off the top of my head:

1. Duke @ UL -2019 (down 23 with 9:38, won in regulation)
2. Duke @ Maryland (down 10 w 54 secs, won in overtime)
3. Duke vs Maryland 2001 Final Four (down 22 first half, won in regulation by 11)
4. Chapel Hill @ Duke 1998, Duke down 17 in second half storms back for 2 point win
5. Duke @ Clemson 1992. Duke down 19 in second, K removes all starters, puts in bench. Bench goes on like an 8-2 run or something, starters come back and Duke wins by 1 point. This was back in the day when you didn't get every game on TV. There would always be 2 or 3 that you couldn't get and this was one of them. I wonder if anyone has ever seen this? at the time I listened to it on the Duke radio network.

Didn't we have, like, 6 players that whole game? That win is so underrated.

The 2001 Final Four game is typically the game I state as my favorite comeback ever. I remember seeing Duhon crack his head on the floor, thinking he was seriously injured. Thank goodness he wasn't.

Was Duke behind that much in 2016 or are you thinking about 2012? I actually just remembered that one. The Rivers game where Duke was down like 10 or 12 with 3 mins to go?

The holes were dominating us. Brice was killing us, Marshall had 4 fouls with over 10 minutes left. Matt went out with his ankle, we were dead in the water. Then Ingram and Allen took over, and they quit feeding Johnson. We played spectacular ball the last 7-8 minutes, they choked a big one. Then Thornton blocked Berry's shot to preserve the victory.
The hole fans were stunned.

Right. It wasn't the point differential overcome. It was the personnel issues. We literally had no bench. It was crazy!

Luke played well also. I remember a big 3 from the corner and didn't he actually block chapel hill's fat big guy on a late shot near the basket? trying to remember his name. He was in school for a decade. LOL The older I get the more these player names don't immediately pop into my mind.

The Miracle Minute is still tops for me. I also have to put the 20 point comeback against Maryland in the Final 4 as up there above this one.

I’m not sure if I anything will top that final four comeback against Maryland in 2001. I even have that over the miracle minute.
1. 2001 final four
2. Miracle Minute
3. 23 pt comeback against Louisville

But remember, the miracle minute only sent it to overtime. ;) That's why I think this tops it. Down 43-62 with 6:20 left and won it in regulation. Absolutely remarkable.

True, but as a counterpoint, that team covered nearly half of the 23 point comeback in 55 seconds. It took 8 times that to get the 23 point lead down to a tie game.

1974: Carolina down to Duke by 8 points with 17 seconds left in Carmichael. Came back to tie in regulation and win by 4 in OT :)

01 Final Four is the best.
Last night is probably my personal favorite.

An underrated one is 2015 UNC in Cameron, Tyus Jones just got to the rim again.

I honestly think last night was bigger. The miracle minute was amazing - and someone said "down ten with a minute to go - that's unheard of!"....But it really isn't.

The miracle minute was awesome, and last night took me to Youtube to watch it again. But with .58 to go we made a layup in that game to cut it to eight. Drew Nichols turned it over, J-Will hit a three and just like that, with .50 (ish) to go it was at five in the "miracle minute" game. That's FAR from insurmountable.

Last night we were down 21 with 6 something to go! ESPN said we had a .1 % chance to win that game according to some ratings index at the 11 minute mark lol.

Last night has my vote.....

The Miracle Minute was an away game.
I was at a bowling alley in Durham with about 100 Duke students watching it on screens over the lanes. Not a single ball was bowled in the final minute of regulation or overtime. My buddy’s fake ID got a lot of use that night.

We had no bench in either contest yet, UNC could not put that squad away. Ingram and Grayson fought for everything tooth and nail that year.

Yea their models with under 10 to go gave UL a 99.99% chance of winning the game. That's incredible. Of course the models couldn't predict 13 UL turnovers in the final 8 minutes.
