74 - Bloodhound. Probably about right. Little dumbass.

But they’re total badasses on the one thing they do well. So that’s something.

Have/had beagles, goldens, poodle, jrt...all extremely smart and loyal. Preference is beagles because it becomes a battle of the wills in who wins out.

You do know this was a dog thread right ? The numbers represent the number the breed of dog you have in relation to how smart they are. Did you marry your pet (talking about being a 2 or 10 in a dog thread) or just make a really dumb joke ?
Learn sarcasm.

My Boykin Water Cocker Spaniel was a better dog than any Border Collie that ever lived. Screw dog rankings, my mutt, Buddy is as good of a dog there is living.

I have a miniature golden doodle so according to the list he’s should be pretty smart - but apparently by mixing them it turns them into complete morons. My little buddy is loveable but not sure I’d put him in a spelling bee.

Yiu should have gotten a jumbo golden doodle like me. He's a smart one.

The labs I've been around run the gamut from smart to dumb as a stump, and sometimes often in the same dog. We had one when I was a child would swim out and drag us back in closer to the shore if we swam out too far for her liking. Then she would feels for rocks underwater, drag them out, and chew on them. Chewing rocks....yeah. Not a great sign of intelligence.

Grew up with a German Shepherd/Black Lab mix.

He knew the difference in the two remotes and would bring the one you asked for and would put his chew bone in the gate on the deck so it wouldn't latch behind him. As a pup, he was somehow inside the garage one day with the door shut. Still no idea how that happened.

Plus, any dog that gets to die of old age probably gets an honorary top 10 spot.

Yeah it sucks that there are some really cool dogs that have shorter life expectancies due to genetics (?). I looked at a list of the shortest and longest life expectancies of dogs and size does seem to matter. [winking] Most of the longest living dogs were small or miniature breeds. While the large or very large breeds filled up a number of spots in the shortest life expectancies. So the question is would you rather have a smart dog for 7 years or a dumb dog for 15?

If you could promise me a dog that'd live a healthy life for the rest of the time I'm alive, I'd pay $10k and not care if it tried to eat it's own feet and bumped into the door facing. The dumbest dog in the world is still awesome.

German(#3), Malamute/Poodle mix(#2/50), Sheppard/Chow mix(#3/76), Cattle dog/Border Collie/Spaniel mix(10,1,18).

All mine are rescues so they all had negative trauma in their lives before I got them, that effects them to different degrees but I'd say my Collie/Cattle/Spaniel mix is the smartest on dog stuff she's crazy trainable.

My Malmute/Poodle mix is smarter than people but not like in a rollover every time I ask way. She can do any thing you ask, but will she? Not always and she looks at you and you can tell she likes I'm not jumping when you say jump *******. Also when we turn the cameras on when we leave she's the one that jumps up on an office chair, to a desk, to step up to the kitchen counter to eat the cat food and any scraps that may be out. Can't lie though the way she acts I won't say she's my favorite cause I love all 4 but she holds a special place.

The German Shepard and the German Shepard mix are both very smart too, but they're my dog, dogs. They see me go for the leash and freak out, wag their tails, etc... They'll do tricks for treats and such but they are very content living dog life although they are both want to sit in your lap if you'll let them.

Moral of this story. Damn, I love dogs, they're the real MVP. Don't know what I'd do if I didn't come in the door to the 4 happiest faces to see me every time I walk in. Gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours, no matter they're always pumped to see me, jump on me, lick me to death, it's the best.

1. Border Collie - Jake is a great dog. He learned to fetch almost immediately. Amazingly loyal. He got parvo (sp)? and nearly died as a pup.

70. Shih Tzu. I have a couple of these. Benji, which my dumbass sister named not realizing that name is synonymous with another type of dog. He's a mean little **** but will defend you in a heartbeat. My other is Weazle and yes I know it's not spelled right. Awesome dog, follows me everywhere.

Oh, I would greatly appreciate if someone could answer this. My dog Benji is 11 years old and out of literally nowhere his back left leg quit working completely. It was two weeks ago. There is no injury or anything like that. I checked the leg everywhere putting pressure on every spot and he never jumped or growled, which is way out of the norm. If you touched an injured part of him before he would growl and snap at you.

My buddy said the same thing happened to his dog. After a couple months the other leg quit working and the dog couldn't move anywhere and would piss and **** on himself. He eventually had it put down.

Could someone give me an idea what my dogs problem is? Please. A dog is like a person to me.

Potential FCE.

Google it.

My dog had one. Running full blast then paralyzed.

He lived 6 years to the day after having it.

"usual signs are a very abrupt loss of function to one limb, both pelvic limbs, one side of the body or all four limbs, depending on what part of the spinal cord is affected. Most often, one half of the body is significantly worse than the other."

Had Golden’s my whole life but I was overridden on the latest addition and got a golden doodle. Very smart dog. Maybe not the most manly looking creature but he’s a good boy.

2-4? I have a giant golden doodle and he is very smart. Maybe smarter than the kids???

I was also overridden and fiancé got her full size golden doodle 6 years ago. Smart as a whip. Too smart really. Drove me nuts first few months, but she’s my dog now. Fiancé is long gone but dog stayed with me—told her take whatever u want but u aren’t getting the dog.

Just got her a buddy—mini golden retriever poodle mix last year. They really took to each other which is great. But the mini could be the dumbest dog I’ve ever had. Sweet but stupid as can be.

I have the same thing with my full size golden retriever poodle mix. She’s too smart for her own good much of the time. She knows she’s not supposed to do certain things but u can see she has decided although bad it’s worth the hassle.

Case in point—I don’t keep them too restricted while I’m gone and somehow she opened my pantry door and knocked an entire pan of dark chocolate brownies off the shelf. Although she knocked it off, she didn’t eat a single one. Dumb-Dumb the mini golden doodle ate the entire pan. Was a nightmare and she was very sick and under vet care for several days. Cost me a small fortune as well.

But, I think back to that and wonder why the big girl didn’t eat any. Weird. Almost like she was trying to take the little one out. Haha

I kid you not, I think mine has it out for our Collie mix. I think she really does wreak havoc and try to frame her. It's too funny. Her name is Winter and she'll sit there and watch you investigate the mess and see what you do. But if I walk over to her and say Winter did you do this? I know you did this. She'll put her ears back, head down, and show her teeth. It's freaking hilarious.
