Contrary to what leftists will say, and contrary to what @dave believes, my wife ended up talking me into voting for Trump. That vote was under duress. Trump and MAGA are long-term terrible for this country. I do not believe Trump will allow trillions to be cut from the federal budget, no matter how much Elon boasts it. As long as we're deficit spending, after we've already been downgraded, we are heading toward the brink. BRICS is pouring gasoline on the fire.

I'm also tired of the fight. Noone, except Elon and Rand Paul, are listening. We're just circling the drain. I'm not like you.

I'm hoping for a 269/269 electoral tie and let's get this party started.

It's not going to be a party. That's Insanity that only the radical left supports. Along with their foreign allies. Most on the right and in the middle who have experience on the subject would rather avoid that nonsense. You're right that Trump can't fix decades of decline in 4 years. It will take generations. His job is to get it headed in the right direction and ours to continue to elect others that will continue the fight after he is done.

His speeches do not indicate that he's headed in the right direction. He promises more deficit spending or tax breaks but barely says a word about reducing the size of government. He's still headed in the same direction as leftists because he is a leftist. He has even promised to give back the SALT tax break again, after killing it not 7 years ago. That was Ryan's tax plan, not his, so I get it.

I have no idea the total amount of money that is handed out to the immigrants crossing our borders but I suspect it could/will save a large portion of the US budget if Trump starts sending them back home. Also suspect many would leave willingly if he cuts off the cash cow the present administration has been doling out..
