That’s just the sport. Most teams deal with it
I’ll disagree with this to a certain extent. Basketball isn't meant to be a major contact sport, but it has been allowed to evolve to that point and significant injuries seem far more prevalent these days. I suspect there is a causal relationship. But yes, everyone has to deal with it regardless.

The trick is finding enough guys who are built like Mack trucks, but are skilled enough to play at a high level. Highly skilled but frail players won’t survive a full season the way the game is allowed to be played these days.

Basketball was conceived as a finesse game. Since the Big East was originally put together it has evolved to be a very physical sport. Players now are similar in size to football skilled position players but, with no helmets, pads or protection of any type.
I don't know if there is even a desire to clean it up. And it will never return to what it was before the early 80's. Very sad and a real issue when guys can lose an entire season or more due to needless injuries.
Hopefully Butler can heal and continue to play. Guy has certainly had more than his share of bad luck.

He got targeted the last 3 games. Pushed , hit, tripped on purpose. I always hated dirty players. We have plenty of that in Sec from Auburn, Missouri or Oklahoma.
I wondered earlier today if OK would target him specifically just for revenge. They aren’t going to the tourney and have nothing to gain. May as well knock the key to our team out for good.

At least he didn't show like he was reinjured like last time when he clearly was injure again. He showed nothing this time.

Butler’s shoulder
Krissa’s foot
Robinson’s wrist
Carr’s back
Amari was wearing something therapeutic on his knee when they were walking in before the game.
Chandler’s face.
Brea has a wrap on his hand

We are the epitome of the walking wounded.

Jack Pilgrim said he’s hurt again
“Again” is not accurate, given that he was already injured.

It’s the same shoulder injury he’s been battling and playing with for weeks now. It ain’t gonna heal until after he gets surgery when the season’s over.

That shot of him talking to Kerr and then Kerr covering his face in dismay did not look promising. I have a feeling we won't see Butler again. I think UK is being coy about it to protect our seeding.

It only happened a few mins ago and you think the shadow people are already at work?
