And congratulations!have taken since 2019, and we are very much looking forward to the cruise.
Since 2019? You deserve a vacation! I hope y'all enjoy the cruise. Where are you cruisin'?have taken since 2019, and we are very much looking forward to the cruise.
Yes, you mentioned about running into someone wearing a Gamecock cap in France on another thread.Since 2019? You deserve a vacation! I hope y'all enjoy the cruise. Where are you cruisin'?
We just got back from Paris - kind of a graduation trip for my son. We rented a large apartment and took my parents and my wife's mom (my son's idea, lol) so we had three generations on hand. It was early enough in June that the crowds weren't unbearable, even at the Louvre and Versailles. All of the French people we encountered were super nice and welcoming.
I don't foresee any additional vacations for us in the short term. My son has a three-day orientation at Montana State in July and then classes start there August 20th, so we'll be busy enough. Then, the deer/elk archery season starts in early September, so I'll be busy between now and then putting some miles on the hunting boots, planning my fall hunts.
Early September is a great time to visit the parks. After Labor Day the crowds diminish considerably and if it's late enough into "early September," you might hear some elk bugling as they enter the early rut. Be sure to incorporate a drive from Cooke City, MT to Red Lodge, MT along the Beartooth Highway into your Yellowstone Trip - it just might be the most impressive 60-mile drive in America. We try to take a nice trip every year. In early September we're flying to Montana and driving down to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. This is yet another American bucket list trip for me . . . looking forward to it. We've been to Europe 3 times since 2018.
My sister lives there so that's when we like to do it as well. Still warm, but the crowds are thinner. We happened to be there during the end of bike week. While the area was mobbed by bikers, they don't really fill up the restaurants as much as SBB and the other bars. Just gotta be careful not to hit them.Nowhere big in typical vacation season. We head down to Murrells Inlet late September. Cooler. Cheaper. Less crowded.
Scotland in May was great. It's been several years since I last went. Have never been to Ireland. We already took our big trip In April to Ireland for 10 days when my daughter was studying there. So no real vacation this summer.
Ha, yeah, we hit it at bike week a couple years ago. We always go to Hot Fish Club and that road was absolutely jam packed with bikers. Kids enjoyed the people watching as we crawled through traffic. Thankfully, other than looking out for the traffic, biker joints and family joints don't overlap very much.My sister lives there so that's when we like to do it as well. We loved it. And the real Irish people seemed to love Americans. I think there's a real kinship because there are so many people of Irish decent here, way more than there are in Ireland. But since our daughter was in Dublin, we didn't get out of the city as much as we would have liked. We did get to the cliffs of Moher and Galway for a day trip. And another day in Howth. That's a must-do because it's an easy train ride. There's a lot to do and see in Dublin of course, because it's the capitol. But I'd like to see more of the countryside and small towns and less touristy things next time. Maybe stay a couple days in several different small towns. Scotland is on the bucket list.Scotland in May was great. It's been several years since I last went. Have never been to Ireland.
Yeah, we drive down 17 a ways and take the other direction in and out of Murrells. Her place is actually in Garden City.Ha, yeah, we hit it at bike week a couple years ago. Was hoping to see Everton at the new field (docks) but I'll probably wait until next year.I was born in the UK and still have family in Edinburgh and all over SE England.
Wise manIt will have to be next year before I go outside the US. Sticking to the mainland the remainder of this year.
We go Sept 9-16 . . . thanks for the advice . . . I've been thinking about the Beartooth Hwy.Early September is a great time to visit the parks.
