We hit him on play action a couple times early, but that went out the window since we couldn’t run the ball.

Very odd. I was complaining the whole game that they werent using him any more. Granted I was unable to see everything.

I think this is a problem with a lot of play callers. You hit them with something that totally takes advantage of the way they are defending your team, so you think they will adjust to that, so you don't go back to that play. But, they usually don't adjust. So, you should just be calling the same play over and over and over until they stop it, but as humans, we always try to outsmart ourselves.

I think this is a problem with a lot of play callers. Barry Switzer was a master of that if a couple plays were working and the other team couldn’t adjust, he’d keep running them, it seems like a lot of oc try to get cute and make it more complex

From what I saw early in the game the defense had a spy on Martinez, after Stoll lit them up a few times they moved the spy to help on Stoll to try to take him away.

Because Martinez wasn't really looking to run, and seemed like he was outright banned from running outside when we were lined up between the hashes it didn't hurt them to do that.

The long pass to Stoll was an RPO. They only called one more RPO the rest of the game.

Also, keep in mind Nebraska only had 10 offensive plays between the start of the 3rd quarter up until the 7:28 minute mark remaining in the game.

The first 5 of those 10 plays were designed around Mo Washington coming into the game. He quickly made an impact with 37 yards on 4 plays. Adrian then forces a silly throw to Mo into triple coverage. That's picked off.

Their first possesion of the 4th quarter was stymied after only two plays because Mills fumbled at midfield.

By the time they got the ball back, the game was in hand and Frost clearly didn't want to throw the football.

It was a weird effing game man.

That really is the way to describe it. I do take some solace in the fact that, as some have pointed out, we played terribly on offense and still won by 2 TDs. Our teams the last few years may very well have lost that same game.

One other oddity of it for me at least was that, despite our play and being overall disappointed, I never really was that concerned we'd lose. I was annoyed at our performance and not putting them away, but I never really felt like we were in THAT big a risk of losing.
