Which Game Do You Want To Win The Most

It's officially summer. Thinking about the upcoming season, which team do you want to beat the most? If you could pick any game in the next season as a guaranteed victory, which game would you pick? I'm going to pick Florida. I don't have a strong hatred of the Gators, but the winning streak that they have against us must end. That streak burns, and I actually think beating the Gators would lift a big psychological burden for the fans and would propel genuine improvement in the program.

Probably Florida. Streak is a monkey on the program's back and would get us off to a 2-0 start with lots of winnable games to follow.

Beating Bama would be huge, but probably a pipe dream.

Beating UT would be amazing, especially in Neyland.

Beating UL doesn't compare to the ones above, but it's a travesty to lose to them 6 years in a row.

In the end, I vote UF.

Florida, no brainer. Our streak is embarrassing and humiliating. I am old enough to remember when we had the lead in the series. Since I live in Florida that adds to the misery of losing to them over and over and over and over. Time to end this once and for all.

Whatever gets us to six wins. Making a bowl this season is crucial. If we can't get over that hump, it will most likely be Stoops last season at the helm.

It's hard to argue against beating Florida.

That streak is an abomination and I doubt it is ever repeated in a major conference again.

The dirty dirty dirty birds, we can get the Florida streak next year at home. Of course TU is very close and would make more waves.

Bama, ut, and loserville are all credible choices but I will go with the Gators on this one. Not just for the sake of the streak (which chaps my a$$ btw), but with it being the second game of the season at 2:30 on CBS, it would show UK is likely better than we are hoping for at this point.

Thank you. I clicked your post twice for LIKE but it won't allow more than one.

Put me in coach. I swear there's enough hatred in me that I'd make jaw-breaking hit.

I'm truly stoked for this season.

Boom has to step up and stay on the field this year. No more of these injuries.

We had Florida the year we had the Blizzard crew on offense. Abney was spectacular that game. Let's take out UF and the Birds.

I would want Alabama. First of all, because they are the National Champions and probably on track to do it again this year. Secondly, although I have nothing against Jones and Harris picking Alabama over Kentucky, I think it would be sweet to go down to T-Town and put a L on those guys.

If we could beat Florida in Gainesville the post game press conference would be the firing of the head coach. They have ZERO respect for us. I was there in 1977 when we beat them at the Swamp and fans were taking off their belts to make a hanging noose. They were ready to hang the head coach from the end zone goal posts. As the Gators left the field all you could hear was cursing and boos. It was a wonderful sight and one of the highlights of my football watching life.

Wins over any of those teams would be great, but I still want to win over UL first, because I hate to see cheaters prosper. But of course they have plenty of company there..

I suppose the most correct answer would be: "Whoever is win #6". [winking]

That point aside I will slightly re-phrase the question as: "What would be the most significant win for the program"?

I'll go with FL and putting the end to the streak. A win over a AL would simply be regarded as a once in a lifetime upset unless it came against a multi-loss 'Bama team that "wasn't as good as expected". IOW, a win over AL would be regarded by most as an anomalous event (e.g., UK's win in 1997). OTOH, I think there would a much greater "sense of relief" within the the program and BBN to put an end to that ugly streak. I recall Navy snapping what was then the nation's longest losing streak (to ND) and I was at CWS when the UT streak ended. Those games were very special to the fans.

Peace

I don't think some here see how a win against the Birds has various implications:

1. It's a swing game that could be the 6th win to put us in a bowl.

2. It ends a streak. A 5 or 6 game losing streak to the Birds is felonious and is to me equivalent to losing 50 in a row to Florida. It's a gawd darn middle of the road D1 team!

3. It'll put the Birds in a downward spiral. Fans honestly at UL think their in the elite tier as a title contender. It's not even close. They only have football against us to keep their asinine status alive. A win shatters their lives. For UL sports fans, football and crown royal is basically all that they have left.

Losing to elite teams is one thing, but losing to a non-conference fraud with a pig coaching them is rank!

And yeah, Jay Reim over at the UVile rivals site. You gonna step up and take my wager? UK will defeat your team this year. Mark it down. It's coming. Your guys can talk as if your legit, but any true fan of the game will know that UL will never be considered any more than an average program in a mediocre conference on the national level. Nothing more. Ever.
