Humans are like amoeba, trying to build a swiss watch, and that is how it will remain, in all probability, until the sun removes us from existence.

Actually, I’m always open to new theories that are based on observable data and presented by educated, knowledgeable modern-day scientists.

I’m not open to theories that were offered up thousands of years ago by illiterate hunter/gatherers that didn’t understand where the sun went at night.
So in other words you are open to your way of thinking only. 😂

Is JDee's shtick just to create a thread (often controversial) and then just bounce? lol

I like reading the opinions of the posters here. I tend to think this message board's a good microcosm of the state. :)

Yes. There are people that think any and all pictures and videos taken from space are fake. It really is amazing. There are even people that think satellites aren't real

Meh, satellites deniers are old hat. ;)

With respect to how the universe "came into being", and how life actually developed from lifeless matter, it's ALL fictional/make-believe.

Those that laugh at the idea of a Creator, and those that swear by it are BOTH religions. Dogmatic and unyielding. Blind faith in the unprovable (thus far)

At least, with respect to SOME Creationists, they actually ADMIT they have no proof. (even though it's pretty convenient that that is one of their dogmas)

It’s indisputable fact that the earth isn’t flat.

As to creationism, I don’t see any point in arguing about it. Nobody really knows.

Yes. Modern, scientific, fact-based, rational thinking.

Others may prefer ancient, make-believe, fictional, magical thinking. Not me!

I’m block-headed that way, I guess. 😄
Then that isn’t being opened minded. You are no different in your thought process than the ones you accuse of being non rational people who believe in magic and make believe. You believe what you want and think everyone who doesn’t have the same thought process is an idiot but they think you are an idiot too.

In life you are used to the process of creation. In order to have something then it must have been made from something else. Then, whether it be your car or your family, eventually they expire. You are conditioned to think in terms of this process of creation and destruction.

In order to understand the "beginning" of the universe you need to learn how to think differently, that there is no beginning and no end. As Carl Sagan said the universe "is all that is or ever was or ever will be" because the basic ingredients never change, they are just endlessly recycled.

The universe is expanding. The "Big Bang" just rebooted everything and the part people can't comprehend is this has happened a thousand trillion times beyond any imagination or comprehension. There is no beginning nor end. No ultimate creation to discover or prove. Only the endlessly circular churning of the beginning circling back around to its end in the same place only to commence all over again... forever. We will expand until it goes "boom" then there will be another Big Bang to ponder all over again.

It appears that you accuse me of saying things that I did not say. I never once called anyone an idiot. You can believe whatever you want to believe. I don’t really care. All I’ve said all along is that all things magical, mystical and make-believe are not for me.

Think about being on earth. Would primitive you imagine that if you could go only in one direction that you'd arrive back at the same place? Imagine how fantastical that would be to try to grasp from your cold damp cave overlooking a vast distance.

A circle has no beginning. No end. A circle is the perfect representation and all within it follow the same rules. Circles. Orbs. What the universe is made up of so why would the shape of the universe be any different? A circle. No beginning and no end. Expand like a balloon. Explode. Begin again. Forever.

What is the shape of the smallest particle we can observe to the largest visible to us in the universe? Orbs. Circles. Time bends as does light. It all comes back around eventually because everything begins as it ended and ends the same as it began as their is no other way to understand an ultimate creation as eventually you get to believing something came of nothing.

The Law of the Conservation of Mass. The physical properties change across time but the chemical makeup does not.

You said you believe in rational thinking which means anyone who doesn't believe like you is not rationa.l That implies they are either idiots or lunatics because they do not think rationally. So no you didn't use the word idiot but you did imply their lack of intelligent thinking which is basically the same thing.
