Work from home three days would provide more opportunity to take care of personal needs. Just not having to commute three days is probably worth as much as a half day vacation (4 hours). For those with young children, you would save three days of daycare expense.

That being said the vast majority of people are not as productive at home as they are in the office. As a former employer, I don't like work from home.

Depends on the field. I work n finance and payroll management and we don't miss a beat working remote. Probably due to everyone saving 6 to 10 hours a week on a pointless commute.

You also get better talent with 100% remote. I get to hire someone from all over the USA versus Nashville, TN area when I worked n office. Nashville has a lot of talented finance/payroll people but a national wide search nets bigger talent.

I could have never worked from home with all the lab equipment used for tests, reviewing artwork technical details for compatibility with processing equipment, & travel.

So let me get this straight ? Work from home and get paid in full for the 3 days, or take vacation days for the 3 and only get paid half of the pay ? Uh, give me the work from home and get paid as normal. Only getting paid 1/2 for using vacation days is dumb. 100%/50% pay, pretty simple. I am 57, not a lot of going on outside of work, I would rather make money. Working at home, I could do SOME things I can't do at work. Watch TV, ran errands (not like they would know), visit with people, not have to dress up.

No. Already work 2 days at home anyway. Either not go to the office for the other 3 days you were supposed to or get an extra 1/2 day vacation.

Some people just excel at home. Not me. I'm a guy who needs to get away from the house. My sister on the other hand is great at it. She works some remote days where she routinely takes a walk with the dog during the those days to break up the monotony.

Option A. 100 times out of 100.

I will never go to an office for a job that can be done from my house with a working internet connection ever again.

The personal time savings of not having to commute makes it worth it alone, not to mention that I’m an introvert who isn’t really into forced socialization or idle chit chat about nothing.

Those things are found in spades in offices and not at all in my house.

I also commuted from about 20 miles south of E’town to and from Louisville daily for years. F that. I wasted 10-12 hours of my time driving every week and would arrive home pissed off every single work day. I feel sorry for folks who still have to do that.

Having a job or career where I can do all of it alone on my computer at home sounds like my absolute hell. I couldn’t imagine doing a job that wasn’t at least heavily reliant on interaction with people. I mean just never hearing the words thank you ever at work? Or cracking a joke and laughing with someone? Seeing someone smile? That’s so insane to me. What the hell kind of life is that?

Assuming this is just for one singular work week, I'm still taking the 3 days WFH. Your saving some money and the time your saving on the commute you can use to do other things, saving you time elsewhere. Or, you could work your commute time, and then just jet out early on Friday.

WFH is maybe the only good thing this decade has going for it (and horror movies have been astounding, but thats probably it).. its an absolute game changer.

I didn’t vote because it really depends on your situation and job.
I’ve WFH the past 5 years. I don’t mind going into the office though, but a year ago moved to where going into the office won’t be an option.

I am currently WFH 2 days and in office 3 days. I don't miss getting up an hour earlier and the 30-minute drive, not to mention the walk from our parking lot to the building in all types of weather, on days I have to go into the office. On WFH days I roll out of bed about 20 minutes before work and log into my computer. It is great.

Work from home. You will spend more than a half-days worth of work in a commute put together.
