Kellyanne Conway, President Trump's senior adviser, promoted Ivanka Trump's line of clothing and accessories during an appearance on "Fox & Friends" early Thursday, imploring viewers to "go buy Ivanka's stuff."

"Go buy Ivanka's stuff, is what I would tell you." Conway said. "I hate shopping but I'm going to go get some for myself today."

"I'm going to give it a free commercial here, go buy it today," Conway said.

Chris Lu, former deputy secretary of Labor, on Thursday tweeted a screenshot of the federal ethics law he believes Conway broke with her comments.

"This is the federal ethics law that @KellyannePolls just violated," Lu tweeted, tagging the U.S. Office of Government Ethics and Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), the chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

Just bizarre. It's as though we've been taken over by a cult.

It is bizarre and getting scary that so many in his cult are so brainwashed.

Lu highlighted a portion that says: "An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives."

The law applies to employees of an "agency," which is defined as "an Executive department, a Government corporation, and an independent establishment."

There are already several suits against little hands Donnie for conflict of interest and I'm sure there will be more to come.

The thing I wonder is whether this was a planned move from the top or is Conway doing this on her own?

The ethics committee will probably look into Conway's actions and they can get to the bottom of it.

One thing about Trump's immigration ban and the resulting hearings, people will be subpoenaed to testify about things said behind closed doors and I'm sure some very interesting things will be discovered.

Has nothing to do with the legality of the EO. Not even germane to the topic. Is the EO legal by the president, i.e., does he have that power under the constitution? Obama had it, Bush had it, trump had it. It is not whether someone said keep out all smelly people from the middle east and only let in those that have had a bath in the last 24hours.

Keep telling yourself that, it will make your days brighter. They are already discussing it.

the 9th circuit court that has been reversed 86% of the time. It is not germane to the EO what is said outside of the law. The law may be stupid, but it's the law. You didn't complain when BO used it for everything under the sun, don't complain when it's used by the next admin. The law is clear, he has the power. It's also clear that the 9th circus is crazy. You don't get reversed that much by adhering to the law.

That figure is misleading. First off I think 86% was the highest for a single year. Secondly, they were reversed on 86% of the cases the SC actually took up, not on the total decisions.

How manyh did they not take up? the point is, this group of justices are not grounded in law.

I honestly have no idea. I would guess the vast, vast, vast majority of their cases do not go to the SC, so it's nonsense to say "this group of justices are not grounded in law." Looked it up and they handled 11,800 cases last year. The SC may have reviewed/will review 10 of those.

Well there's a solid post.
I went to see a patient and after thinking about it, you are right. The SC would only hear big stuff that needed to be reviewed. Kinda like in Good Mourning Vietnam. When they couldn't get Bob Hope to perform, Forrest whittaker said,"Bob doesn't play police actions, only world wars. Bob likes a big stage." The SC wouldn't get involved in the small stuff that affects only those 12 states.,

Former White House Cabinet secretary Chris Lu said on Twitter that if officials in the Obama White House had been caught making similar comments, it likely would have cost them their job.
