Drove thru on the way to West Glacier. Wasn't much there other than a grocery store that I saw.

The good thing is that it is only 30 or so minutes from Glacier NP.

I'm looking for fish and trails.

Don't really need an arcade or tourist attractions.

But ill probably heed your advice and take a day to glacier NP. worth the drive?
Without a doubt. Beautiful scenery you won't find anywhere else. Some of the very short hikes are great. Going To The Sun Road is great if it is open. Lots of long trails also and plenty of fishing.

My guess is you will want to spend more than a day when you see it.

Be careful of bears on your hikes.

First thing I found in my research, but I’ve run out of funding and must go to work. I’m envious. Hope it’s a great trip!

Also, be sure to leave your trailer at home. The "Going to the Sun Road" limits the size of vehicles.....and/or trailers. Many people have to leave their trailers at the bottom.....

I go there almost every summer. Great Northern Brewing Company is fantastic. Tuesday evenings in summer are cool because of the food trucks at the farmers market. GNP is spectacular. Bears are real. My wife’s cousin was killed by a grizzly in 2016 in a mountain biking accident.

I found that story online. What a tragedy. Sorry for your family's loss. Years ago I went up to Alaska to work on a big construction job. As part of orientation they made us watch a film the Wildlife Service up there had put together on bear attacks. I nearly went home without making a day on the job after that.
Thanks man, it was a very tragic event. Wrong place, wrong time.

Sounds like it. Must have been tough on your wife's family. We were told in Alaska that to accidentally get between a mama grizzly and her cubs was a death sentence. Of course, how do you assure you don't do that?

It has been very tough and shocking. Alaska has more grizzlies than MT. I’m sure you were always alert there! Surprising, getting in between a sow and cub, and getting too close to their food will cause them to attack
