PJ Duke will take on Antrell Taylor in his first match at 70 kilograms. Marcus Blaze still awaits his match with Jesse Mendez at 65 kilograms in the quarters. Levi Haines will face Carson Kharchla of Ohio State in the 79 kilograms semifinals later today. Kyle Dake and Carter Starocci are both in the 86 kilogram semis opposite Parker Keckeisen and Chance Marstellar, respectively. If both win later today, they’ll meet in the finals. And, Josh Barr has Dustin Plott in the 92 kilogram semis later today, as well.
Iowa commit Bo Bassett beat Penn State alum Beau Bartlett 1-0 in the 65 kilogram quarterfinal round of the Senior World Team Trials. Bartlett is now off to the consolation bracket.
A four-point second period throw helps lift Penn State incoming freshman PJ Duke to a 9-6 decision over 2025 NCAA champ Antrell Taylor in a 70-kilogram quarterfinal bout at the Senior World Team Trials. He'll face Nebraska's Ridge Lovett in the semis later today.

Sounds like the Duke match came down to the wire. I thought Lovett got a last second takedown to win on criteria but it looks like it got waved off. duke won 3-2.
It wasn't waived off. Duke challenged it and it was a step out without continuation.
Yes it was overturned as Lovett actually stepped out before he attempted the TD

I did google and try to search I can't find the men's 3rd place matches.

Marcus Blaze knocks out Carter Young for the second time in this tournament to finish third. The finals are up soon.
Penn State incoming freshman PJ Duke knocked out Bryce Andonian by decision, 4-1. He'll take on Yianni Diakomihalis at Final X next month for a spot on the US World Team.
Penn State senior Levi Haines had takedowns in the first and second period en route to a dominant 10-2 win over Oklahoma State's Dean Hamiti. He's headed to Final X to face Evan Wick for the 79 kilogram U.S. World Team spot.
Kyle Dake beats Carter Starocci on criteria, 3-3, to move onto Final X. The NLWC member will face Zahid Valencia for a spot on the U.S. Senior World Team.
Penn State redshirt sophomore Josh Barr poured it on late with a four point throw and a takedown to beat Aeoden Sinclair 7-3 to earn a Final X matchup with Trent Hidlay at 92 kilograms next month in New Jersey.
I will wait for Tom to weigh in whenever he gets to check in after his wife's event later tonight but sure looked like a takedown for Starocci to me.
Penn State wrestling will be well represented at Final X after a strong championship round at the US Senior World Team Trials on Saturday.

I don’t know freestyle rules as well as I do folk… I’d say that was close… it depends on the rules… Kyle was flat on his butt, but had not released or turned away… it looked similar to his takedown of Carter earlier in the match, but did not have enough time to play out as it surely would have.
I would like to see what Tom says the call should have been in freestyle…. And if the exact thing happened in folkstyie.
Otherwise, what a day for the big team… undefeated other than the head to head match!
