this iowa team is too inexperienced to win at michigan. not a question of whether it's theoretically possible as much as whether a team with the least number of starts in the b1g (and almost nationally) can have the poise to overcome a combination of talent, hostile crowd, and zebra freebies.

The Michigan crowd is relatively quiet, particularly for 100k.

Fools gold had been the perfect description until last year. Iowa beat teams with elite defense and special teams alone for several years, but they were a 2 legged stool that fell hard against better programs. If the defense and special teams didn't score, Iowa didn't score. That's not exactly the case anymore.

Though not young and inexperienced. A large number of Iowa starters are in their 4th and even 5th seasons playing college football and then sprinkle in the transfers that have played a ton elsewhere.

4th game of the season and plenty of experience already gained the past three weeks. We don’t have any excuses.

I have a sinking feeling that the officiating will make a crucial call in favor of the home team in the second half that will decide the game . I hope I am wrong.

They had three calls, face mask, fantom holding call and of course the added second. My heart says Hawks but my brain says bad guys.

Teams have always been weary of playing Iowa due to their special teams and defense. Now though, it is completely different. The defense is still elite. Special teams seem to be special again. And now there is an offense. I expect a Hawks win. And I really don't think it will ever be in doubt. OSU...that's a different discussion. But I am confident against UM.

running lanes will be there, but if they don't have to respect the pass, they will be filled with LBs/CBs. I have no idea what is wrong with Mateer, but man he missed so many throws, including screen passes that would have gone for big gains.
