Who do you pull for in a have vs have not, big dog vs little dog game?

Provided it's a game in which you have no rooting interest, who do you instinctively pull for if Houston is playing Florida State, for example? I find myself pulling for the big dog, established power in these kinds of games, and I'm curious if that puts me in the minority (I suspect it does). I figure fans are insufferable anyway, and if I'm going to listen to an insufferable bunch of fans, I'm more tolerant of the power that has some real tradition to crow about than I am of the nobody that put together a good season and now seems to think it's football royalty.......

Just depends on the teams playing. Some haves are intolerable, some are likeable, same for the have nots. Totally dictated by the schools playing for me.

Generally speaking, I agree with you. Negative experiences with UC fans in real life and UofLoL fans on message boards have left a bad taste in my mouth with respect to upjumped or current midmajors with delusions of grandeur.

FSU is a cess pool of human filth and I'm not sure how anyone could root for that program with how it allowed that POS to behave there the past couple years. To be fair the POS is gone and they are not as good this year.

Houston is really good, and we play them at their place next year. I think that game is the week before the UK game. Third year in a row of a tough road game before the UK game. Houston will be tough next year. Very tough.

Outside of games Ky is playing: It's not necessarily big school vs little school.

1. Always pull for SEC;
2. Always pull for ohiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiio state's opponent; unless,
3. It's notra damn. In which case I hope the ground opens up and swallows both teams and their fans;
4. Always pull for team from South over a team from the north;
5. Can and would pull for ul provided I'm with some of their very kind and likable fans.

Number 1 on the intolerable list is Alabama - the fan base that gave us Harvey Updyke, the tea bagger and the "lady" who killed another Bammer who apparently wasn't upset enough about the Auburn kick six.

I would love Sparty to beat them tonight but I'm afraid of what one of their idiot fans might do.

I've yet to see how other SEC teams good fortune helps UK. For instance while the SEC was on their title run, how was UK faring?

Of course UK can't capitalize even when it's division is awful, so it may be a moot point.

^^^ THIS ^^^ .... except that another POS plays for them this season ... Dalvin Cook .... woman-puncher. But, it isn't just the players. The bigger embarrassment is the university administration, athletic department, coaching staff, local law-enforcement and state's attorney covering for such behavior because football is that important to their identity .... and a large portion of their fan base, as well.

But as a couple of posters have noted, it really depends on the teams.

This sounds like the Louisville program, then.

Has nothing to do with helping UK. I've always liked SEC schools /teams and the way they treat Football.

Was invited to a ul game by a fan and his wife. We had a great time and they were and are wonderful people. Sure there's a little bit of good natured jabbing, but nothing like the nastiness that is shown by some who are more fanatic than fan (on both sides).
