I like the idea of Tyson Helton. Although he could end up being another Dawson, an OC in name only with Brohm really calling the plays and running the offense.

Not overwhelmed by his resume. He had some poor seasons with good seasons.

Some on here don't have a clue who is or isn't a good OC. If they hear some football talking head mention something positive about a coach they take on the attitude he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Guys like Borges, Mangino and Pease careers have come and gone.

I have no idea who Stoops will target but I'm pretty certain he's been thinking about this for some time and has a person or persons in mind. Let's see how it plays out.

Norm Chow--yes old...but extensive resume...experienced...prolific offenses at BYU and USC...the list of skill players he's coached and developed over the years is impressive...

June Jones--experienced offensive mind...pro experience...built competitive winning programs at Hawaii and SMU...winning record as HC...

Pep Hamilton...up and coming...spent some time under David Shaw at Stanford...love how that program is run...disciplined, fundamentally sound...has pro experience...

Ivin Jasper...Navy OC...they're a competitive program...probably wouldn't be able to run a true triple option here, but it has been very effective...they run it very well...I'm sure he could implement a passing game...would need to recruit athletic QBs...

Norm Chow??? The guys going to be 70 years old before next season starts. I dont think he'd be a good hire at all.

Easily my top pick of realistic choices would be Eddie Gran at UC. He fits everything we need in an experienced offensive coordinator who is not afraid to throw the ball but also use an effective run game. He has almost 30 years of coaching experience including 15 years in the SEC with stops at Auburn, Tennessee and Ole Miss. He set UC's offensive record in 2013 averaging over 470 yards per game. Stoops also would be very familiar with him as he was the associate head coach, rb coach and special teams coordinator at Florida State from 2010-2012. He currently makes $350,000 at UC ($200k less than Dawson at UK) so UK can easily offer him ~600k.

Also would give us more recruiting prowess in Cincinnati. Would be a home run hire!!!

Gran would be an awesome pick. He was one of my top choices last time around, not only due this style and experience but his background with Stoops.

However he has a lot of loyalty to Tubberville. Im not sure throwing money at him would do the trick. As successfull as he's been at UC there's a good chance he will be offered a coach in waiting position for when Tubberville retires.

Tub is making 3 million a year at UC. A shot at that kind of salary coaching for a team in the American conference in a state with fertile in state recruiting is a pretty sweet deal to leave out on.
