I've never understood this trend. First off let me say that I like custom vehicles. So, it's not the customizing here that I don't understand. It's the use of a truck. A truck is designed to haul and tow loads. This customization completely removes those attributes. You can lower a car and still have it's original functions, but it ruins trucks.

I've never owned what you would call a "nice" truck.

You are to be commended. Trucks aren't meant to be "nice." Trucks are meant for work and hauling & towing. This fascination with leather, 20" wheels and nav screens in a pickup is a sad display of Nancy. If one requires a vehicle with leather and a nav system and a subscription to AAA to change a flat tire so one doesn't soil one's mini skirt, one doesn't need a truck, one needs a trailer and a VW Bug with an in-dash flower vase and a seat warmer for one's delicate, candied ***.

$50K push-button 4x4 pickups dipped in chrome that never see a payload, dirt or even a scratch are the new status symbols, nothing more. Penis extensions driven by pseudo-men that wouldn't know how to lock in a hub, level a trailer or change a tire even if you offered them a free makeover at Macy's, yet feel the need to own a truck because it's the one thing that can help them feel like a man.

Remember, chrome won't get you home and pretty never leaves the city. If a man is willing to fork over so much for a pretty tool that never gets used, gotta wonder what else he wastes in his life besides his money. I say talk to his old lady, she'll be more than happy to fill you in on all his shortcomings.

Oh my goodness @FusterCluck...you sound like a middle school girl. Work hard. Buy and drive what you want. I've never understood a grown man giving two sh!ts about what another man drives.

I have a 2002 Silverado that I still drive every day. I enjoy being able to haul and pull stuff. It has golf clubs in the back seat and a UK sticker in the rear windshield. I like my old truck.
