Not sure why this is so difficult for people.
BCG would still be here for many of these "continuity" folks.
One reason that its so difficult is the fact we keep hearing comparisons to the basketball program. It only takes 2-3 top recruits per year to full fill the goal of supplying players for the NBA.
It takes ten times that many top football recruits just to stay even with the majority of teams in SEC football.
Kentucky has no tradition in football. Its all been in Basketball for over 60 years. The basketball season for most of the SEC teams was for keeping players in condition to play football.
The only "continuity" we have in football is the fact we hire a football staff and give them less than 3-4 years in most cases to start criticizing and calling for a new set of coaches. Of course that means paying one coach to coach and one not to coach.
Why is this so difficult for people to understand?
The first reaction you hear from the same fans every year, "Our coaches have forgotten how to coach, they were good coaches "
Folks, wake up. We play in the best football conference in the nation. We have to recruit the neighboring states for the left overs and do a pretty good job, but that doesn't mean you can catch up in 3-6 years. It will take much longer.
I don't know if Stoops can turn it around or not, but this "continuity" of changing coaches every 4-5 years has proven over the years that it doesn't work.
Let me say one more thing, you don't have to look for Jordan Jones on the field. He will be where the ball is. He has the same coaches that the rest of squad has. He is a player.
