Team first...not an Eagles fan but if your goal is a Super Bowl you almost have to sit him sadly.

i think he would have played in Giants game if he had not hit 2000 yard mark in 16 games... now that he has i am guessing he sits
Putting the team ahead of oneself is so not 2024 or 2025. Barkley is going give the NFL a bad name if he sits.

Problem is that if Barkley plays and the Eagles don’t get to the Super Bowl, his playing will be a major story, second-guessed left and right. By not playing he’s the guy who put his team before personal glory.
Gotta give the team the chance to get this record. Barkley can’t do it by himself. Well, maybe he can, but it’s been a team effort thus far to get to 2000 yards.
Yes, it was heartwarming to see the OL celebrating the 2000 yesterday. It was a proud day for them, you could tell.

I would love him to get it. I don’t give a crap about the Eagles.
But if he doesn’t play and they get knocked out of the playoffs, he missed an opportunity to do something great. I’m not saying they should play him because if I were the coach, I wouldn’t, but I can see both sides.
He deserves the record but it does go against Barkley's DNA to do the selfish thing. I enjoyed the post about the o-line being proud of 2000 yards. That's awesome.

I can see both sides too. If Barkley plays, how do the Eagles gameplan, since they are less interested in a W or L than they are in getting Barkley 101 yards.
He showed back in October what he thinks of individual stats. Hopefully he still feels the same. Running backs only get but so many downs in a career. Smart to save them for when it counts.

he's the problem I see for him going for the record, then you cant sit anyone else. Hurts, if cleared does he play? SB is much better when JH plays. Now you cant sit the OL, and a couple of those guys could use a break. You cant sit the WR, have to keep that threat alive. I think he sits. I also think the Eagles will pay out any incentieves he is close to earning, but wont earn due to sitting etc.

The team was really excited and energized when he got 2 000. Imagine the joy of breaking a 40 year old record and having a place in history. I think they should give him the 1st half and I think it's what the players want.

If it were any other Player than Barkley, I would say absolutely not. Need to preserve him. But I'm selfish and would love a Penn State Player to own the record. It will help with recruiting and in that sense, he's still helping his college team and not being selfish.
Has 34 fewer carries at this point than Dickerson.

Running around a bit this afternoon I listened to Joe n Hugh I’m 100% joining the go for it crowd. They talked about how the game has changed from run to pass, the record is 40 years old, and the team (not Layne) wanna go for it. 1 said something I agree with, if this was on the schit giant stadium turf I wouldn’t even let the starters on the bus. Secondly, imagine the O starters walking off the field middle of the third quarter with the record. Talk about momentum all the way to ford field. Awesome

Get him the record. Eagles can’t be the one seed so having guys sit too long isn’t good either. Josh Allen is slated to start Sunday vs the Pats so you have to keep some momentum going into the playoffs if you don’t get a bye.
He’s not going to be able to break the record in the first half, especially if the third string QB plays. The Giants are going to put everyone in the box and Barkley’s going to have to carry the ball 30 times.
I am torn on this... would love for him to have the record. Other hand would love for him to rest and not risk injury. Maybe split it down the middle, he plays the first half and that's it if he gets the record great if not rest him the 2nd half. This is where it would be nice to know if you had the bye week and if so could play him to get the record.
Yes, Saquon’s name is tied to the record, but as we’ve seen this year, he gives credit to the OL. This is also a record the OL can hang their hat on.
