They have a plethora of big bodies to rotate in the frontcourt. I knew the 3 guards would be good early on but the bigs seemed to have progressed nicely.

It's a cryin shame we're shorthanded. A guy like Jaxon Robinson is a huge asset to have come tournament time.

Who can beat Florida?

All of those SEC-East teams certainly can: Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee & Georgia.
Somehow those teams know how to go after each other without backing down.

Those damn dogs cost Florida (14-4) a chance to catch Auburn (15-3) for a possible tie for the SEC regular season title. Florida beat Georgia 11-straight times before Mike White's team ambushed us in Athens - hopfully, some kind of karmic debt is payed off now before the NCAA Tournament.

Florida had beaten all of those teams that had defeated them except for Kentucky.
Hopefully, Kentucky won't be in the same bracket as Florida's - possibly the West bracket.
But you never know with the NCAA committee.

Good luck in the NCAAs!

Houston and Florida are the two teams I think will either play in the title game or in the Final Four. Depending on how they set it up. I'm convinced they'll have us a 3 seed in Florida out west as the 1 seed. We will be the three there.

Florida went ICE COLD and lost badly at UT shorthanded, but the Vols were never in it from tip off at Florida. I'd say Florida's A+ game beats any one else's A+ game out there, when they are on this year. Yep. But if they go cold, a bad game? They're as capable of beating themselves as anyone else out there. 😉

I'd personally find it a wildly successful and crazy as hell season if we actually got to an elite eight to play to go to the Final Four against them. Having to play them in the elite eight game would be nutz of a rollercoaster year, to have it end there. :D

but would it ? I'd take that chance right now, if they set it up that way. So be it.

Go Big Blue !

I wouldn't mind seeing an Elite 8 matchup in the West between us. I hope going cold on free throws doesn't end up costing us a game at the end in the tournament. I think we are the most well rounded team in the tournament.

Anonymous (the poster with the Vendetta avatar) wondered whether he might bolt for the NBA. If the evidence against home was credible, I could imagine him being under some pressure to start over new somewhere else. Just a WAG.
There is no pressure on Todd. He has tons of support. I suspect he gets a strong extension. He also has strong NIL going.
But, he does have nba aspirations- and that will happen at some point. Not this year, and likely not in the near future. But I think that is his move down the road.

Gators have really been great this year. I still think the Kentucky game was the best game in college basketball this year. Both teams played at such a high level.

If Florida plays it's A+ game, nobody is going to beat ya'!

They are by every definition “peaking”. That being said, I’ll put them in my company bracket to win it all and they will lose to American or Omaha.

I don't think Golden goes anywhere, Fla the last few years when they had Billy the Kid has a good tradition, Golden is a good young coach.

It’s called having a bad game. Everybody has them. Tennessee did best when they drove the ball. I think driving the ball and looking for good shooters is the key. Have to bring rebounding britches and stay fresh on the floor as possible. Who would’ve thought Alabama could lose after our game?

This year any and all teams are beatable. It will be matchups. UK will get every physical rough team this year, if the Steelers were playing basketball UK would draw them.

Teams that would present issue for Florida would be Michigan state, Houston, UT.
Haugh is all Gator… as in since he was a kid it’s been his dream school. I doubt it. There was even an article written about it and him wearing Tebow jerseys as a kid, even though he grew up in Pennsylvania.
He actually has been lobbying to meet Tebow. I’m sure they’ll make it happen. But yes, he isn’t going anywhere. Nor is Alex. I’d be surprised if Florida lost anyone outside the seniors. But with that - they will have a lot to replace.

This is how you can see it is always about matchups. Florida is handling Alabama the way they handled us. Yet, we beat Florida.
Yeah, we didn't " handle" Florida the way they handled Alabama. We had an extremely good night shooting at Rupp arena. I wouldn't count on us " handling " Florida if we meet again.
We are down Robinson at minimum. Maybe even Butler.
That will be huge if we play again.

Well, it’s called March madness and it’s hard to pick one team from the beginning of it and say they’re gonna go all the way definitively

We played literally the perfect offensive game. It's the most efficient offensive performance of any team in all of college basketball this season. And the second most efficient game is quite far from it.

And we still barely beat them...at home. Theyre a very, very good team. Iirc they only lost 4 games?

Where would Golden go? I think he has almost all his players returning.

Not sure where he would go but I think they are losing all 3 primary guards at EOY...like 45-50 ppg.

UNC could come calling...probably won't, but should.

We beat them because 1) we played our best game of the season and still only barely beat them at home 2) they were still starting the muscular unskilled big because they didn't realize how good haugh was, especially when combined with condon.

I love him but condon is even better. No way he isnt a top 10 player in cbb. He can do everything.

Just a sophomore too. Unbelievable.
I was at that Rupp game. We didn’t get lucky beating them. They were the recipient of a string of questionable calls in the post late in the second half or it wouldn’t even have been close. Florida is a great team and I’ll give you that addition by subtraction thing. But when we beat them it was not at all about us lucking into our best game to somehow weather their storm. It was actually about Florida in general not playing particularly “physical,” and our offense therefore just overwhelming them inasmuch as we were allowed to play a fair game with almost everybody healthy.

If they play UConn in the 2nd rd, definitely be one to watch and not just for Hurleys behavior lol. He’ll play the “disrespect” card and no one is giving them a shot and have them ready for Fla but I still don’t think it will matter. Fla is that good right now and playing at a very high and efficient level.

A bunch of teams

Duke. Houston. Auburn. St. John’s -Alabama.

Florida is a title contender. They may even be the favorite.

But the gap between them and others I feel this board is making it out to be larger than what it is.
