I'm assuming we get omitted because our marketing aces decided to claim the Sagarin title??? Is it simple disrespect? Seriously. Look at that collection.

Oregon would be my guess. Darkhorse pick would be Wisky. Couple of things need to go right in the QB positions, receivers, and a head coach/play caller that likes to throw the rock around. Normally has good to elite O-line play and normally has really good defenses.

LOL some lame Louisville fan on that Twitter thread complaining UK isn’t listed.
If the roles were reversed a UK would be doing the same thing. Now do I personally count UK as the National Champion no I don’t and here is why.

1. Jeff Sagarin was 3 years old when the game was played.
2. The Sagarin ratings didn’t start until the mid 80’s
3. NCAA.com list the National Champion as Oklahoma.
4. Championships were awarded before any bowl games were played back then.
5. both Kentucky and Tennessee finished 11-1 with UK losing to UT in their last game before the bowl game.
6. UT finish the season ranked #4 & UK finished ranked #7, there were no post bowl AP rankings at the time.

-one can argue that *all* pre-playoff Era NC's are subjective.

^in that light I'm rolling with the Sagarin model. 1950-51 Champs, dgaf about other fan-bases or sad sack cats fans opinions/objections. Cope better, boys.

If North Carolina can claim their Helms championships in Basketball UK fans can claim the 1951 Sagarin championship.

The helms titles aren't recognized or respected by anyone that matters. If the schools themselves want to claim titles from 70 plus years ago no harm n it though.

Football is so subjective though as before the bcs era we really didn't have a somewhat sane system. Finally have a playoff and a real legit national title path. Sad it took decades and decades to get here.

Oregon or Baylor, both are in **** conferences so they have the best odds IMO.

Disagree, TCU is proof of the conference's strength. I realize they weren't officially the conference champion but the ones in charge felt they conference's best.

Of that group only Oregon and Wisconsin have the infrastructure and resources to win a Title in College Football, but even then their chances are miniscule.

TCU only played 4 power five teams that finished the season with a winning record before playing their conference championship game. I stand by my comment.

And to add to my earlier comment, none of these teams, including Oregon, are winning jack crap when it goes to 12. The sec will win it almost every season due to 3 or 4 teams in it.

Never say never. Maybe with 9 game conf sched + championship games it beats to hell the 2 best teams from both the SEC and Big 10. Then Oregon with no competition breezes to one of the 4 bye spots, with few injuries.

They won't ever be as talented as the best from the SEC or Big 10.. but in late Dec/early Jan, their best talent might be healthier and fresher than others in the CFB 12 team playoff.

If I had to pick one I would pick UCF. They were undefeated 13-0 in 2017 and 12-1 the following year. Since then they still hover around 9 or 10 wins a season. I look for Knights to be picked up by the ACC or B12 in the near future with all the shuffling and being in the middle of a talent rich state I see them making the jump to the playoffs at some point. Also Miami, UF, and FSU are not the elite programs they once were which further opens the door for UCF to move up.

UCF is already a big 12 selectee...they begin in FB this fall along with BYU, Houston and Cinci.
