I have to think Stoops was trying to make up for the botched timeout on the punt, by having faith that McGinnis would make it despite the extra 5 yards. Wasn't like the penalty took him out of range. McGinnis should have made it regardless. Wouldn't have mattered though, we needed a TD. Frankly, we should have been up 2 scores at that point anyway.
