Who stood and kneeled for the anthem?

Funny thing, I was reading a few sites about NFL viewership being down again this year and most think that it is due to the hurricanes this year or some other obscure reason like a shift in media coverage of matchups or whatever. No real credence given to the fact that many are fed up with the protest. The liberal media still does not get it. Did not when many on the GOP side and some from the center left shifted to Trump. There is always some other underlying reason for them when the truth is not in line with their agenda.
The libs typically go down with the ship. They are true to their devotion to the cause. See Univ of Missouri. I hope the NFL really gets smacked financially. I haven't watched a second today and I cancelled my cable after M.Bennett of the Seahawks claimed brutality.

I too have not watched any. I hope they go down to the point where it starts to affect player salaries and owners actually have to field good teams to make money. Cincinnati anyone?

I was listening to a game the other knight and the announcer on a punt was like, "and Anderson takes a knee at the 26" and honestly my first reaction was "holy **** they're doing it in the games now!"

ESPN changes mind due to Vegas shooting, and will show national anthem on tonight's MNF. I fully expect total unity and every player to do the splits to "use their platform" and "show support" by "bringing awareness" to the victims.

Still talking about this non-issue/distraction from actual important ****, I see.

I'm more offended my homeless veterans, inadequate food supplies for seniors and kids, poor mental health treatment options, mass shootings, crumbling infrastructure, etc. than I am over symbolic BS that offends the snowflakes who call other people snowflakes.

What a time to be alive.

My dad was a Marine Corp WWII vet who survived combat in the Pacific, including Iwo Jima. When Tommie Smith and John Carlos protested on the medal podium in 1968 at Mexico City, he didn't like it, but he told me that was one of the great things about being an American in that you could express your displeasure/opinion and not be jailed or executed for it. If he didn't lose his **** over that, I'm not going to lose my **** over players kneeling or whatever for the anthem. I don't like it, but what they do has zero effect on my life. If I decided to quit watching a sport that I love, then I have let it affect my life, and I'm not about to let that happen. BTW, the Skins & Chiefs have a good one going on right now on MNF and it looks like Arrowhead Stadium is full and loud.

A. I could give two ***** if these dumbasses aren't smart enough to understand that "kneeling" during the anthem hurts their "cause".
B. If the NFL wants to let them kneel, fine...
C. The product on the field is suffering. But I still watched a ton of nfl football last weekend... I don't turn it on until after the national anthem though. Seeing this crap turns me off. Not because I'm offended. But because people on both sides are flipping out about it. I want the nfl as an escape from the hyper politicization of society. Not to remind me of it.

Freedom of Speech dumbass?
Where did he say people shouldn't be allowed to speak?
He made an observation and gave an opinion. The fact that I disagree or don't like what is being said or discussed <> wanting that speech or discussion banned.

I agree with him that there are many more important issues than whether or not NFL players stand. Why aren't the same people who want to claim that players are disrespecting veterans/military equally concerned and compassionate about the issues faced by those veterans?

I wonder if some day they are going to start getting fantasy points. Like if a Jordy Nelson made an insensitive tweet, you dock him 2 fantasy points. .5 for calling Trump racist .5 for islamaphobe etc Kneeling would be worth like a reception...M.bennett for example could get 10 points for claiming to be abused by police...draft Michael sam get 50 fantasy points.

I like it, LOL! It'll need to be even less than 1/2 a point for the "racist/islamaphobe/etc." stuff, though... since they've worn that out.

Reminds me of the old joke about the priest who proposed actually paying ($) for one's sins. You could only be charged a quarter for masturbation... because that adds up fast for a lot of people.

Looks like the NBA is putting a stop to this before it can get started. Can't wait to see what they do to punish any rule breakers.

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...es-rule-players-coaches-stand-national-anthem

Funny thing to me is that the NFL and NBA audiences are primarily white.

Hitting us white folks with "BLM" or race issues in general is going to do NOTHING but turn their core audience against them. It literally could not be a poorer decision by the NFL/NBA to allow it.

The NFL audience seems to be way more color blind than the players themselves.

You said "don't give a rip about protests, most of them including this one are ridiculous.". I just gave you some examples of protests that got stuff done.

You're naming stuff and acting like it isn't talked about. We talk about our issues in our community, and we work to fix them. We can actually focus on more than one issue at a time, so GTFOH with that!

A lie? Tamir Rice didn't deserve to die. Philando Castile didn't deserve to die. Sandra Bland? Freddie Gray? Other cases? Why do I have to have more fear than my white peers when dealing with police? Why are we getting harassed because "we fit the description" when that description was vague? Why do store automatically assume brown people are stealing? Why are black people automatically labeled as "thugs" for dressing a certain way or listening to certain music, but when white people do it, it's cool?

My brother was leaving work, on his way home, and got detained by cops a block away from where we lived because he "looked the guy." They said he had on a green tee shirt, my brother was wearing his blue work polo. They said he had long dreads with a green hat, my brother had baby twists with NO hat on. They said he was black, my brother is Dominican. The only thing that matched was his shoe color (black), and his backpack (blue). That racist stop-and-frisk crap plagued every one of us brown people in New York City (and there are number to back up that it was unfairly profiling us).

Come on man, you might not be living our experiences, but don't try to discredit what we say when we go through it.

Justine Damond's killer is STILL as free as a bird, and drawing a paycheck while refusing to explain why he saw fit to gun down an innocent civilian (yep, unlike most of the media martyrs being protested on Sundays, she was actually an innocent victim) like a wild animal. Have any of these protesters spoke out against this killing yet? No? Shocked, shocked!

It's not because he is black, it's because he is not standing and respecting the flag and the people that died so he can play a stupid game and make millions. The race don't matter, it is the deed. Why do you people always bring race into it?

"Richie loco". who is probably a bit of a SJW, is engaging in a bit of circular logic. Peters is protesting because people are mad that he's protesting? Taken literally, that's essentially what "Richie Loco" is saying. It doesn't make any sense. Besides, how does "Richie Loco" know why Peters is protesting? Did he personally interview the man?

That's just a jackass move on Peter's part. A peaceful jackass move.

I'll vote with my dollars. I'm not signing any petition, they have just lost me. The NFL approves of politicizing their product, I don't.

The market will sort it out. If there are enough fucktard FtCampbellCat fans out there to displace the loss of people like me, it will continue.

This is and has been such a crappy fall because I, like many, look forward to the football season. I'm so disgusted I can barely watch an NFL game and now I see that idiot Jim Harbaugh let some of his players come on to the field to do their own silent protest during the national anthem. Please oh please AD's around the country, don't let this happen to the college game. BTW, apparently Jimbo should have had his players focus on the game instead of protesting because their national title hopes just went out the window after losing in the Big House to MSt. Bwaaahahaha!!!

Also says
"Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses."

May does not equal will. May means there may be punishment, there may not be punishment. Therefore, the NFL electing not to levy a punishment is in accordance with their rules.

In accordance with the option they have available to them by those terms, yes. In this instance, the league and owners appear disinterested in pursuing that option. This risk they create for themselves extends to future infractions of behavior based rules by the same code where punishment is optional. The key here is organized labor and federal arbitration. I don't have time to get into that explanation but many here will understand the new standard going forward.

Articulate point, snowflake.

I never said you can't be against it. But I used my free speech to call you a snowflake for using your free speech to cry about football players using their free speech.

You really showed me.

what are they protesting? These are twenty year olds. They don't know anything. If you looked at the most recent "racial injustice by police" whatever they think they are protesting you'd probably find that the majority were all fabricated.
- Michael brown ferguson - truth totally distorted ; he deserved to eat that bullet
- Missouri poop Nazi symbol - they overthrow the president of the school
- Michael Bennett saying he was mistreated by police - proven to be a total lie
- Lebron Nazi symbol on his multi million dollar house
- Texas A&M coach with the racist letter
-Freddie Gray (huge police record) dies in a van and then they "need space to destroy- Baltimore mayor)

blacks are using racial injustice with the help of white cuck liberals as a means of extorting money and assets via "white guilt." If you want them to leave you alone just buy them off like a *****

And an idiot. We have seen this type of garbage posting from him before. He does it for a day or two, gets owned, then runs like a baby to find his safe place.

Online Super Patriots need to own up to what they want.

Either the esteemed men of our armed services fought for the freedom to stand or sit as people choose OR just admit that they believe this would only apply if the people in question do what the OSP wants......

I've learned that most OSPs are conveniently patriotic depending on the situation....while people they don't approve of must agree with them 100% or be considered un-American. Not to mention their moral outrage adjusts depending on the political "team" involved.

Kind of like the people who DARE disagree about the team. "Don't agree with me?! You're obviously an idiot/troll/etc!!!!" And those who insult our players/coaches when they make a mistake while playing/coaching their asses off while THEY sit and home drinking with nothing at stake but bragging rights.
Oh the irony....you people ***** more than anyone on the planet if you don't get your way.

You need to understand it more than us. Since I served, I too can complain and not agree with their stance or is it that only you lefty snowflakes can protest. Learn what it is to be an American and not just a socialist/communist wannabe.

She does not fit the racist narrative they need to destroy this country so that they will actually have something to ***** about but can't because of the socialist/communist leaders they now serve. Dizzying isn't it.

Does not fit FtCampBellCat's racist agenda though.
