Tre is our best player.. but he’s not a big time scorer..

Carey will have lots of points some games.. but will likely have foul trouble and/or not have good matchups in some games..

Our upper classmen aren’t really known for their offensive skills..

Who will be the leading scorer at the end of this year?

I would vote Carey. I think when he's rolling he will have some 25- 30 ppg nights. I also think with a poor matchup he can have nights when he scores 8 points.
I think were gonna be super balanced. Hurt will probably be right around 15 ppg, Tre maybe right there too. I'd guess Carey is at 17 ppg.

I too think it is going to be Carey. I think relative to Duke teams, this won't be as potent an offense as we tend to see. This might be one of those years where Duke has three guys in that 10-15 range with Carey at the high end of that (joined by Hurt and Jones), and maybe a guy or two just outside of that (AOC? Moore?). I don't see anyone in that 16+ realm, and hopefully that balance will be a good thing.

Hurt reminds me offensively of Singler a little bit. I think he's going to be our go to guy when we need a bucket.

If Hurt can hit a decent percentage of his 3 pointers, he will probably be our leading scorer!!!

Hurt. He seems like he can score at will from the elbow. I realize he was playing against smaller guys, but he looked good.

What makes Carey different from Elton? Or is that the focus is no longer on the Big getting the first touch?

One can make a legit argument Tre can be our Avery and either Stanley/AOC Langdon by committee. I trust Jack will supply solid D. If that can be our reality, Carey can lead us scoring.

Elton Brand was the most dominant player in the country. Thicker, stronger and better footwork than Carey. I see a huge difference there.

I wish I could get on board with the comparisons to the '99 squad, but it might be just a little optimistic to compare a team which struggled against Northwest Missouri State to one of the greatest teams in NCAA history.

I think Carey. He seems to have really good skills and he has gotten in better shape so I think we'll see more athleticism from him. Don't know enough about Hurt to know whether he'll be a big scorer this year.

Hurt or Stanley. Carey will be right on the edge of averaging double figures per game.

dang Boogie Ellis had 18 points in Memphis' first exhibition. Know he's not on our team but he could have helped.

I think Hurt is the leading scorer....but I don't know if he averages much more than 14 or 15/game. We're going to have a lot more balance this season, IMO. Sometimes that's really good....but sometimes it's really frustrating, too.
