I think Auburn losing 2 straight to head into post season play was the best thing that could have happened to AU and the worst for the rest of the sec. They can now refocus.

Auburn will win it.

As for UK, I think they win a hard fought game against uga or OU (for some reason my gut says OU) and then lose a close one to Bama.

Outside of Auburn, we have to be in the top 2-3 favorites.
Without checking anything on the internet I’d assume the favorites are something like this:

1. Auburn
2. Florida
3. Alabama
4. Tennessee
5. Texas A&M
6. Kentucky
7. Ole Miss
8. Missouri
9. Arkansas
10. Mississippi State

Note on SEC women's Hoops this year :

The SEC has 7 women's teams in the top 20, the SEC men "only" now have 6 out of the top 20.....

New Alternate SubPoll :

Men's or Women's side - which was more difficult ?

My vote : Men side.

Greatest conference in and out of conference schedule and games ever played this year within the SEC.... The two Alabama - Auburn games especially this last one. UK beating the Vols TWICE and beating Florida too. All the big games the SEC collectively made going into conference play was unprecedented great.

And all the in conference regular season wargames : Florida dismantling Auburn, all the good solid wins by the vols and everyone else. Florida and the Vols exchanging laughable home court mutual whuppins. Vandy becoming strong again and magic coming back.

Ole Miss and Beard, of all the success everywhere, and Cal struggled so mightily, until his guys finally started playing more capable within their skillsets. Very talented, of course. But will they sustain it ? And they were nearly THE LEAST of SEC schools this year. Missouri and a great turnaround year. Impressive. Nice to have a tough Oklahoma and Texas join the fun this year. Georgia comin strong again.

The SEC men finally came of age this season as a basketball conference.

The men did something that is the best single season I've ever seen in 50 years, probably ever. But maybe, with all the coaches - if they stay - will make the conference EVEN BETTER - next year. It is a crazy time for men's basketball on the men's side, finally catching up with the women. Which is still as dominant and just as great.

(kudos to the Lady Cats too, great season so far !)

It has obviously NEVER been this dominant on both sides before. Just to stop and think about it..... and please do. I've enjoyed watching every second this year, both sides.

I dunno' if anyone has watched much women's hoops, but watch out for South Carolina again, folks. The SEC was even MORE loaded than the men this year, imho. Incredible ending, USC beating Texas like that in the SECT finals. Staley says her teams playing as well as any time, and that is looming if you ask me, who I think will win the women's title ... (ahem - Go Big Blue !)

That right there tells me - take no prisoners - beat the best to be the best, especially even so in the conference tournament THIS YEAR.

Stay optimistic and strong and we have the will and ability to win the SEC tournament*. It'll have to be all hands on deck every moment.

(* - Trust in Coach Pope)

Go Big Blue !

Not hating… but I feel like Auburn has started sliding right before tournament. Just have this feeling they’ll get punched in tha mouth and never recover 🤷

So if I read it properly we would have to beat G/OU then Alabama who has beat us twice, then Florida and then Auburn. That is not happening, one of the double bye teams will win it. My guess Florida

It’s hard to predict. I know this is lame but it’s the team that wants its more. Here’s hoping the Cats win it.

Top four teams that have the double bye. As physical as this league is, those deep well rested teams have a major advantage. Auburn and Florida seem more likely. Florida is my prediction. Auburn looks more mortal with those two losses in a row.

Easy answer is the team the scores the most points in all their SEC tourney games.

My guess will be BAMA.

Would love to see Pope and the Cats pull it out, but I'd go with Florida. They're very well coached and very versatile. They can beat you a number of ways.

If I was betting money, Auburn. It’s going to be difficult for UK with the lack of depth.

Kentucky! Playing well, they finally know what players are available and everyone is counting them out. GO CATS!
