OU wins 24-10 If

1. The ground game is able to produce 150 + yards.

2. Defense is able to put together 4 solid quarters with no mental breakdowns. They don’t have to be perfect but they have to be great.

3. Mateer is able to control the tempo and use his legs to break containment and help convert 3rd and longs.

4. Special teams are solid in all phases.

Make no mistake this Michigan D may be one of the most physical Ds this team faces all season long.

OU loses if

1. They get behind by 10 or more early in this game. 20-17

I think the team with the best quarterback wins a lot of games. I think their guy is more athletic, but his first road game will challenge him as a Number One recruit stud rep. The issue will be the performance of OUr OLine. If we get that same paltry performance in run blocking that we had last week, we won't win.

The other big issue will be how the stripes from the Big Ten allow their DB's to hang all over our receivers. The injury reports on this game, especially the RB's and OL's make me fear a repeat of UTenn last season, with their freshman QB on the road. And beat us more soundly than the score showed.

I think we should win, but the Sooners tend to play better if I pick against them. A very intriguing matchup of two first year co-ordinators facing each other. OUr 29 year old OC, and their ancient, quality DC, Wink Martindale. This will be Arbuckle's introduction to truly bigtime football. We'll. see. Today is the most important game of Brent Venables' career as an HC. Maybe OUr crowd can replicate TTech in '08.

I'm picking Michigan, and hope I'm wrong If we win today, the impact on recruiting will be profound. So will a loss. If we were healthy, I'd pick us. But I'm not confident about OUr OLine and less about Ott, or any of the running back room. I saw one RB look impressive last week. I doubt he plays because of injury. Dammit.

Damn. You’re typically right more times than wrong, but hopefully today will be one of those games. I know you feel the same. BOOMER!!

I feel the same way. Mateer has a bunch of hype, but nothing like the Bryce Underwood hype train that is coming to town! I am nervously excited about tonight's game!

I am hoping its Underwood who fails to live up to his hype and Mateer has the game of his life. If ( there is that word again) OU loses I just hope its not in beatdown fashion. That would not be good for BV nor our fanbase.

OU has really dominated Mich this 1st half. Now do it for 2 more quarters. Mateer has been really impressive along with the WR and a shout out to the OL

Gotta quit making stupid mistakes, and run the ball! Also, be careful with the play calling in the second half. Michigan made adjustments!

I admit I got a little worried in the 3rd Qtr. In the end though this team responded when it needed to and that last time consuming drive really impressed me. Without a doubt, Mateer was the star of this game not Underwood.
