Springsteen is the first to come to mind.

Metallica could do a good show but I still don't like them (mostly Lars) for being such whiney bitches about Napster.

The sound is terrible at these events anyways. I like the Marching Band Idea. Maybe a couple of them and have a dueling band competition.

No one. A local marching band, more analysis during halftime and cut the duration to 20 minutes like a regular game.

Game drags with all the commercials anyway. Why make scheduled dead time even longer?

Or just show the commercials, they were pretty entertaining this year

I would go with a mixed genre of talent that can perform live and their music can crossover to mix in with others. Adam had a bad showing. His vocals were bad. His voice sounded like he spent the week at superbowl parties in Atlanta. Can't confirm what he did but his voice was off. His performance was bad and then he had to result to taking his clothes off to cover for his performance. Sort of like Tyson biting Holyfield's ear. He was losing so try something desperate.

Hard to find rap artists that can entertain live arenas. Some actors are not meant for broadway but that doesn't mean they can't nail the big screen and vice versa.

Marching bands mixed with actual performers would be great. Too much money to be made for corporate music industry not to have someone on the stage. iTune sales soar after a solid superbowl performance.

The superbowl is an event and should be the greatest display of talent. The halftime show matched the performance on the field. Not Tommy's best day and the Rams offense was not their best. The halftime show is for my wife and daughters not so much for the reg football fan. Reg football fan is watching regardless.

Heard last night that Maroon 5 album sales (whatever that is nowadays) went up 580% after the show. Lots of hot and bothered 30-50 hear old ladies, probably.

Eminem has played songs with so many people that he’d be a good choice. Could really mix it up.

The same thing happened with Lady Goo Ga last year. Not sure who gets hot about her other than the LGBT folks.

Me. Eff Hall and Oats.

A good show would be Talking Heads with cameo by The Strokes.

My own personal lineup would be a 90's hip-hop and R&B tribute:

Wu-Tang
Goodie Mobb
Outkast
Mobb Deep
Boyz II Men
En Vogue
Jodeci

With The Roots backing all of them up.

However, this would scare the **** out of America, so I know it'll never happen.

Yeah that wouldn't scare anyone.

But The Roots backing up Outkast would probably be awesome.

Don't think those rappers would make the cut for the next super bowl, but I like it. Playing off your idea, mixing those 90s R&B groups with a few current stars would be a good show. I know Boyz II Men can still sing, but Jodeci had a rougher life on the road, so they may not be up to a stadium show.

True true. It's just a dream list.

Half of Wu-Tang would either be late or not show up lol...I think I was was one of the lucky ones that actually saw all of them perform together, minus ODB RIP

Personally, I'd go with Iron Maiden. Up the irons!

Since that wouldn't ever fly, though, I'll go with Dore95 and everyone else who says Foo Fighters, and I'd throw in some cameos from Snoop and Warren G. That'd be a lot of fun.
