Hunter has a year of eligibility left /s
Um....no!!! The guy has had 3 seasons to win the job and Fitz brought in two portal guys. Time to move on if Fitz actually wants to get the program back on track.

Marty among the seniors being honored on Senior Day.
I wouldn’t interpret this as definitive. If he has a good finishing stretch to the season, I think it’s likely Marty comes back. I think you’ll see a different offense tonight.

I would say that is a longshot if we lose tonight. Purdue and Whisky are toe to toe for the West. Purdue has to win out, and Whisky can't afford to get the lump up. Both teams will be out for blood. Not sure Marty would want to come back. Not much to work with next season outside of the running backs and with Robinson gone.

If he’ll finally get his chance to start from Day 1, I think he comes back.

“Different offense,” huh. First couple of drives look awfully similar to me.

Why have we all given up on Hilinski?? He's the guy next year barring a solid transfer option

Corbi, I think it is a toss up. If he comes back great, but what will he feel like at the end of the season is what will determine if he comes back. I see next year as a rebuilding year. I hope I am wrong, but I think he would be 50/50 if the season ends ugly.

Except for a few horrible interceptions, Marty looked solid! We need more speed at linebacker, better kicker, and better qb play

Not gonna put it all on Marty, but he's not so much the "best" as he is the "least worst" option in this dumpster fire at the moment. Realistically when was the last time we had a one-season starter (who's been in the system for YEARS) light it up?

Barring a gift from the transfer portal, I'm hoping Hilinski is the answer, especially as our receivers improve.

Are you kidding me? Marty is not even a real QB. He can't throw. Hilinski is a good pocket QB. If ever we can develop a good pocket. RB's should run well and QBs should throw well. I give Anderson one more year. JON could go for all I care.

Trevor Siemian

In 2014, Siemian started the first 11 games before having a season-ending knee injury (torn anterior cruciate ligament[15]) at Purdue on November 22.[16] Versus Notre Dame, he passed for a season-high 284 yards and ran for a career-high 32 yards in a 43–40 overtime win.[17] Against both Michigan and Minnesota, he posted a career-high in completions (32).[18][19] Facing Penn State, he ran for a career-high three touchdowns.[20] Against California, he threw a 54-yard touchdown and caught a 17-yard touchdown pass.[21] The Wildcats once again finished with a 5–7 record and missed out on a bowl game.[22] For the year, he rushed for five touchdowns and passed for 2,214 yards.[23] The latter ranks him just outside of the top 10 in Northwestern single-season history.[2]

Even though he started only 14 career games, Siemian completed college ranked fourth all-time at Northwestern in career passing yardage (5,931), fourth in completions (550), sixth in offensive yards (5,908), and seventh in passing touchdowns (27).[2]

It’s hard for a QB when he doesn’t get much protection.
Wasn’t Marty’s running supposed to help with that? Instead we were sacked more last night than vs Michigan.

I’d start either of the guys that will be coming back next year. Start the evaluation process for 2022 and get as much game tape as possible one Hillinski or Richardson. Marty deserved this shot but with bowl eligibility a pipe dream we move on.

I kind of wish Hillinski played so we could’ve seen him in a close game where we actually had a chance to win. Marty made plays today that cost us a chance from winning so while Hillinski hasn’t been great, the games he was in were rarely close enough for his plays to have an actual outcome on the overall result.

Because that is what this board does. Hunter is the Savior, Hilinski is great, Marty is the guy to move the offense. Where is Richardson? It literally comes up after every loss. Geez, people found a way to rip on CT who was a 4 year starter and holds most of NU’s career records.

Whoever provides us with a greater degree of success. The QB by committee is not a recipe of success.personally I didn’t see enough of Marty last night that anoints him as the heir apparent. However I think there is something behind the scenes that has him moving on. No knowledge am just a feeling from his manner in pressers.
