I think Watson of Clemson should get the nod. The only undefeated team, #1, and accounted for over 40 touchdowns.

Henry sounds like the favorite, but to me, this QB has had more responsibility to get his team to where they are.

Everyone should have watched McCaffrey kill it against USC this weekend. He broke Barry Sanders' record for all purpose single season yardage. Sounds Heismanesque to me.

I'll preface my response by saying I've been a Bronco fan for trending towards 40 years now, and he's the son of one of our great players. I'm kind of a Stanford admirer to. I'm sure those things taint my opinion, but I'd give it to him. I wouldn't mind at all if he ends up wearing a Bronco jersey next year. Doubt we'll get him though. He'll be long gone.

McCaffrey deserves it if, like me, you are looking for some demonstrated versatility in the player. He is not just a RB, he is a great "football player". Someone who is really killing it on All-Purpose Yards should always get a leg up over one dimensional rivals for the honor. I apply this logic to QB's as well. I don't think the vote should be to predict who will have the greatest professional career.

How many remember that McCaffrey is the nephew of Billy McCaffrey who play b'ball at Duke and Vandy? Leading scorer for Duke in '91 when they won the NCAAs and was a All-American twice at Vandy. Very athletic family.

Henry. Consistently had his best games against the best competition on Alabama's schedule. Will easily eclipse 2000 yards. Set numerous Alabama and SEC rushing records.

McCaffery had a terrific year as well, but Stanford limited his TD's. 4 of his 8 rushing scores came in 1 game. I feel like if he would have scored more, he'd have more of a chance.

This a great Heisman class. A case can be made for a number of guys, even outside the top 3.

Come on. McCaffery is best player and the Navy QB is second best player.

I mean you could break OJ Simpson out of jail and he would have run for what Henry did this year. This is what happens every year at Bama, they are all the same guy.

I mean every Bama RB should just be rewarded the Heisman because this is how it's played out since Ingram, Lacey, guy drafted by Cleveland, Henry, someone next year and next.

Leonard Fournette is a better RB and more dominant and Henry is hard runner but if you are going by yardage and best team than might as well give this award every year.

Special players were McCaffery, Navy QB and Fournette. I think Deshaun is more deserving.
IMO

McCaffery reminds me a lot of Randall Cobb... Very versatile player who is a playmaker all over the field and a threat every time he touches the football... Also gives 110% effort and has the HEART of a LION like Cobb!!!!!!

But Henry has carried the majority of the load for the Bama offense and is a flat out BEAST!!!!!!!

If I had a vote I'd probably go with Keenan Reynolds, but McCaffrey, Henry and Watson (and Mayfield) all had great seasons.

McCaffery would get my vote. Like someone else said, he is a true "football player" that can do so many things to help your team. He contributed more to his team than Henry did to his, but I'm afraid the voters won't look at it that way.

Well, McCaffrey threw for a TD, caught a TD, and ran for a TD last Saturday. He also returns kicks which means he puts himself out there for punishment. I like all of the other candidates, but the kid from Stanford carries his team on his back at every opportunity.

711 of Henry's yards came in 3 SEC games against MSU, Auburn, and A&M. Those rush defenses rank 72nd, 91st, and 103rd. So it's not really accurate to say his best games came against the best competition.

In addition, 2 RBs ran for over 2000 yards last year and neither won it.

I think McCaffrey is more deserving, but Henry will win it. For some reason it was pre-ordained prior to the season starting that the best RB in the SEC would win the award. It just happened to switch from Fournette to Henry without any real consideration being given to other candidates.
