Of all the folks who do post-game analysis (in all sports), who's your favorite.

To me, Mike Milbury of NBC and NBC Sports, is absolutly the best. His comments after the first period on the Anaheim goalie, for example, were spot-on and unusual for their frankness.

He's like that all the time.

I think Keith Jones is pretty good, as well, but he's no Milbury. They can dump that McHugh guy at their earliest convenience.

I like the Illinois State University legend Doug Collins. After a DC telecast I have no further questions. He leaves no stone unturned.

But as for entertainment, I have to go with Mark Jackson, Jeff Van Gundy, and Mike Breen. The commentary is just

Also I am a fan of Doug Collins. I also like Charles Barkley because he's not afraid to say anything even if you don't like what he says.

For HS football I like Jack McInerney although I know many on this website don't agree with me.

Hockey - Ed Olcyck

Baseball - Jimmy Piersall, Tony Kubec

Football - John Madden

College BB - Al McGuire (old coach from Marquette)

I may be mixing up analyst and color commentary with my picks.

Eddie Olczyk, in my opinion, is no question the best analyst of any sport. He sees things as they happen and not after the fact. You have to be quick to see what he does. His analysis is always right there. I would say Milbury is a pretty close second. I remember him well as a player with Boston. He played for about 10-11 years, was a tough defenseman who got his share of penalty minutes. But he was also an All Star.

Milbury has been very frank since he first took his place behind the desk. That is how many analysts are behind desks in the NHL so he is not alone. I like that and really can't get it so much in the other sports. I do like Kevin Weekes on the NHL channel too. Keith Jones is very good as well.

Hockey is just a different sport and a different culture than what we have in the other three major sports we all watch. While the frankness of Milbury may be unusual for some, it really isn't in the hockey world, although the degree may be. Hockey has a lot of very good analysts and announcers as well. The most in any sport in my opinion. I love the sport.

college hoops: Al McGuire, college football:Keith Jackson, baseball old school Game of the week Scully and Garagiola were great and I liked Kubek as well. High school football-Matt Bowen and special mention sideline reporter Joe Passion

You can add Jeremy Roenick to Milbury and Jones too.
