Again? Really!?

Nights like tonight are so common for us die-hard UK football fans. I'd imagine many of us were lured into the mirage of football success in the late 70s and it got in our blood.

But why do we continue to stick around like a woman with battered wife syndrome?

All I can figure is this...

The lows are so low--and COMMONPLACE--that when we do actually ever win, the HIGH is something special only due to the stark contrast to what we usually feel.

I'm numb, but at the same time in pain.

I almost can't take it any more. But who else do I follow? It's in my blood, like a virus.

This sucks. This just really sucks.

...and depression is the state of being sure things CAN'T get ever get better. If this isn't football depression, I'd hate to see what is.
