Pope needs to start providing:

- Flight info and tail numbers of every plane used to visit recruits
- Hourly updated records of his personal cell phone
- Saved video of Zoom meetings that fans can access
- Live microphones to stream staff meetings

BBN DESERVES TO KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON THIS IS ********
Not sure why this isn’t happening already. Pope needs more transparency! How can we audit him without all the details? 😉

It’s why I always try to remind people to consider there is a difference between trolls and overzealous fans. There are at least two posters here I’d truly consider bad faith trolls here. Most of the other posters are just fans who kind of vent their frustration. Nothing deserving of hostility, not saying I don’t pushback myself but always try to do so respectfully
No matter who Pope would sign the next post would be that that player sucks and that UL is doing so much better or some SEC team. It really gets old. I trust Pope and the coaching staff to do the best they can to make the team the best it can be. Remember, we are just fans, its his job and he understands that. As he says, he knows the assignment.

Preaching to the choir on that one. I’m as pro-Pope as anyone on here. I trust Pope

Berea type players don't grow on trees.... Pope will find his guys.

Key is to get better athletically and defensively. SEC is going to be tough here on out... this isn't our daddies conference.
Seems to me we could pluck Berea's best shooters easy enough. I don't think they even offer scholarships much less an NIL package.

Oops..... I don't know man I heard Berea College have some loyal players. Not sure Pope can get those guys from the portal with the way things are looking.

And we were somehow the second favorite pick to win it all. I....just don't know anymore man.
The Roster was loaded but we lost a ton of a pitching and our signing was Profar and he did PEDs and is now gone for 80 games and the postseason. We didn’t replace the pitching and now we can’t hit.

I don’t think we’re not going after shooters.

I do think we’re not offering competitive NIL packages to many of the players we’re going after.

But let’s put that aside for the moment and let’s assume we’re not going after shooters.

We’re not going after blind old women. So obviously this would only mean we’re not going after the very highest caliber shooters in the nation.

Which we certainly had last year, both in Brea and in Almonor, who was leading the SEC in perimeter shooting for a good chunk of the conference schedule if you were paying attention.

But both those guys, especially Brea, spent a lot of time towards the end of the season running around, not being able to get open.

Both were amazing shooters. Neither were stellar at creating open shots for themselves.

So what if we get a guy who is 10% worse at putting the ball through the basket from beyond the arc when he’s wide open, but is 20% better at getting wide open? Or what if we get a guy who is 10% worse at putting the ball through the basket from beyond the arc when he’s wide open, but is 10% better at putting the ball through the basket from beyond the arc when he’s got a man in his face? Or what if we bring in three guys who are all exactly 10% worse than Brea at putting the ball through the basket from beyond the arc when they’re wide open, and then since we have so many of them we’ll be able to have them spend a lot more of their time on the court actually wide open, with defenders guarding the other ones, actually putting the ball in the basket from beyond the arc, the same way Brea shot better before Robinson went down.

I think there is a decent amount of room to bring in guys who shoot better even if they are worse shooters.

PG - Lewis - dynamic shooter and playmaker
CG - Johnson - sniper and slasher, three level scorer
SF - Williams - sniper and finisher
SG - Chandler - shooter with limitless range
C - Garrison - emerging shooter
CG - Perry - emerging sniper
SF - Noah - shooter

We may or may not be better than we were a year ago, but mark my words - we will blow last year’s 3pt FGA out of the water, just due to the dynamics of the roster. Coaches are trying to address the weaknesses and need of the roster which is a need for more physicality, defense, size and versatility
Man if Trent and Travis are top seven I'm worried we are not where we want to be . meaning FF contenders . Maybr you were just tallking 3 pt shooting. But that alone doesnt win , esp if you cant get your shooters open with someone to draw a double team . or be a super drive-dish-finisher type .

I hear you but we have 9 scholarship players and Perry and Noah probably aren’t top 7 as we speak. I love BBN but we get mad about the cake before the batter gets finished.

I'm not mad nor impatient , it will come together . At least I think it will and I'd be shocked if it didnt .. if I were Pope and I didnt get the players I wanted because of $$ I'd consider stating it " I wanted some guys that got away". of course he can use language that doesnt insult his employer .. but if we are not getting the players how can we expect to win ??

I’m kind of hoping that Pope will be more forthright about just telling us things like that if it’s true. I know we have money so the Louisville excuses don’t work but do we have Duke, Arkansas or BYU money? No. To me, that is not acceptable. We need to go all in on basketball with revenue sharing or we will become Indiana.

NO DIX
NO MC NEELEY
NO MENTION OF ANY SNIPERS REALLY
Either Pope doesn’t think they are a great fit for what he’s trying to build or he isn’t willing to pay what they are getting from other schools. Pretty simple answer.

And saying Pope isn’t going after any shooters is pretty freaking stupid after seeing his offensive style this past year.

I don’t want McNeely. There’s just something about him I don’t like. He’s NBA draft bound most likely anyway.
Isaac McNeely from Virginia (transferring to Louisville) is likely NBA Draft-bound? Are you confusing him with Liam McNeely from UConn?
