Why does anyone read Bleacher Report?

Why?

Do you not realize that the only qualification that exists to post to that website is simply sign up and send in what you wrote?

I mean, that's why it's called the "Bleacher Report". ANYBODY can post whatever absurd, uninformed, lazy, bogus content they want on that site (within reason).

I would sooner believe in the Easter Bunny than anything I read on that site. Which is not to say everyone on there is a moron and clueless, but there are more than enough unqualified and shaky opinionists on that site to stuff a burlap bag full.

Well I have to say I'm not that well-read of what Jason is writing, but I feel sorry for him if he is as good as you say BKH (and if you say it I'm inclined to believe it) having to associate with the rank amateurs that post drivel on that site

One of the mods on here also made disparaging remarks about the Bleacher Report a few weeks back when I referenced one of their articles in a post.

Funny how your description also fits these message boards......

Yeah no it hasn't been that way for several years, especially not now with Turner owning them. People have to apply to be able to write and only 15% of people get accepted as writers, and most months the acceptance rate is under 15%. You'd be better served doing actual research before spreading such grossly inaccurate information.

Rarely for quality. Because odds are good person will find an article that agrees with what they already believe. Or one that disagrees and it activates the outrage pleasure centers of the brain.

Look at this article that says we are the best.

Look at this article that says we are not the best.

Just because someone doesn't have a byline at a major sports station or website, doesn't mean they can't have valid viewpoints or tell good stories. A very high percentage of professional sports journalists are not worth reading either, and I think some Joe Schmoe at BR could probably do just as good a job.
