God rest his soul. But my hatred and the reason I think they suck is the same reason that Hole fans b%tch about Coach K. Dean Smith was notorious for getting all the calls, especially at there home floor. Dean would stomp that floor and everything changed from that point on and it was not in your teams favor. I still remember the game that Clemson had to play the last 5 or 6 minutes with only 4 players on the court. They had a legit shot at beating UNCheat at Carolina that year but the refs took care of that. They fouled out 6 players and still only lost by like 7 points. But justification for me was Ole Dean was only handed two Nattys with all that talent that rolled thru Chapel Hill.

Fed also lied about his knowledge of the entire mess but what would ya expect from a guy who allowed his players to trash a locker room with ZERO consequences. Fed aka "Coach Accountability." Of course sylvia hatchell is going to fall on the sword but I hope she demands a buyout of about 10 million dollars and a statue of her at the main entrance to the dean dome. OFC

But there’s no allegations against any of the coaches or any recruiting or anything with the program. “So if there’s no allegations, how can there be penalties without allegations?”

unx already tried to pin all this on Sylvia and it went sideways. They underestimated the support she has and they woulda opened themselves up to all kinds of , I dunno , Title IX litigation or somethin.' Not a good look to blame all this on the ladies when , clearly , they were just takin' the table scraps from the men. Given that , this is what I can foresee happening....Sylvia has already paid a price. She lost the #1 recruiting class in the country and had a crap team because this was held over her head. Rightly so , but I digress. unx doesn't need her tellin' where all of Roy's bodies are buried so she goes on the protected list too. Her sanction? Time served. Only one way to go now. Double-down on blaming the eggheads. That's where they started with Guvna Martin's "It's an academics only scandal" dog-n-pony show. "We had questions about the classes but when we asked about 'em we were brutally rebuffed by the professors. We were told they had wide latitude to teach as they saw fit. We were told to stay in our lane. We were told to shut up and coach athletics and let the educators handle the classroom yada yada yada..." Ya'll watch. unx's response is a week from tomorrow. Someone tell those athletics-hatin' eggheads to hunker down. Roy and Fed are warmin' up the bus.

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill names Mark W. Merritt new General Counsel

Merritt is currently president-elect of the North Carolina State Bar

Merritt has strong ties to the University. A Morehead Scholar (now Morehead-Cain), he graduated ( from unx ) with a degree in Economics and Political Science in 1979 and has served as a member of the Morehead-Cain Scholarship Central Selection Committee. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia, where he was editor-in-chief of the Law Review. His wife and two children are UNC alumni and his youngest child is a current student.

Merritt succeeds David Parker, who has served as interim general counsel since January 2015 and will continue in his interim capacity until Merritt assumes the helm. Parker is retiring after 22 years of service in various legal capacities at the University.

Unless unx decides they need even more time to draft a response,the holes unveil their answer to the ANOA tomorrow. Of course , crafting a response that exonerates athletics while throwing academics under the bus is certainly a lengthy process so who knows? These types of broad CYA white-washes take time. Get ready ya'll. We're gonna hear the tale of how those arrogant pointy-headed lefty-leaning sports-hating unAmerican commies on the faculty conspired to disparage some hard-working student athletes and the Godly coaches who mentor them. Should be a hoot.... #carolinaway

Randy Woodson of N.C. State and Carol Folt of UNC-Chapel Hill rank first and second in overall salary. They received the second highest raises at 4.6 percent...

That headline is a bit misleading. Opinions DON'T vary on unx's guilt...


This is the worst academic fraud case that’s ever been documented in intercollegiate athletics...

“In this case, clearly, this is a lack of institutional control. ... They’ll likely get that because of what they did was kind of pervasive, endemic, caused a competitive advantage and all these other things,” Ridpath said.

"I think this scandal goes far beyond the usual suspects in that it has lasted, the academic fraud ... such a long period of time and affected so many athletes,” Gurney said.

“I can tell you that North Carolina and the NCAA and anybody else will throw them ( Sylvia/wbb ) under the bus to try to protect other programs,” he said

“The fact that they ( NCAA ) came back was a good thing. In my view, the fact that they dialed back the allegations was not a good thing...

I do think the end result for North Carolina is going to be much better than maybe even they thought,” he said. “To me, I think that’s sad. ...

It’s a highly manipulative and unfair process, and I think right now, North Carolina has gotten a very, very good deal considering all the information that has come out and all of the comparable cases that are much, much less.

Wanna know just how corrupt and incestuous unx is? They fired Matt Kupec for cause. They could've pursued criminal charges vs Matt but his lawyer ( Wade Smith...also a unx alum. Go figure. ) told his alma mater not to even THINK about it...

He also has repaid money for a range of personal trips, dinners, lodging and other “questioned costs” with his girlfriend, Tami Hansbrough, recently released records show.

Woodall said he has not ruled out a criminal prosecution. A lawyer for Kupec, Wade Smith of Raleigh, said charges would be unwise.

unx obviously agreed. They garnished Matt's last check and let it go. That was much easier than pressing charges vs 'im and havin' the ex-quarterback reveal where the skeletons are buried. Here's the kicker though. It's illustrated above in the ad for "Text2Give." unx fires Matt for his criminal behavior yet when Kupec goes out and starts another business , unx HIRES 'im again! Ya can't make this stuff up! Generally speaking , former employees who misappropriate funds while committing adultery on the tax-payer's dime don't get re-hired at the institution that canned 'em...except at unx. #carolinaway

As UNC’s NOA response comes due, Boxill’s attorney denies allegations

Boxill is also accused of providing impermissible academic assistance and special arrangements to women’s basketball players.

Boxill’s attorney, Randall Roden, denied those allegations in a draft of the response to the NCAA.

“It did not happen,” the response said. “Not one of the Allegations against Jan Boxill is true.”
