Why doesnt Whittingham have teams throwing wheelbarrows full of money at him?

Give him some local recruiting and he'd kill it in the ACC or even SEC. I know he says he doesn't want to leave Utah but give him the resources that Auburn or FSU or A&M have and he'd have teams in the playoffs, I believe. Gotta be tough recruiting to Utah vs many other schools.

Been at Utah for 27 years...family's there, member of LDS church. It's home. Bet BYU wish they had him.

He doesn’t want to leave. He has had many offers. 6 million is ok for him.
Players and fans love that guy.
I have a lot of friends from there and he is beloved.

Especially when you are already a mega millionaire, I mean at age 62 or whatever he is, what would several million dollars do for him that he can't already do?
Yep. Whittingham makes $6 million a year. Utaw fans love him. He has enough success capital to weather anything besides some sort of sordid off the field scandal. He's 63 and has minimal pressure compared to most P5 jobs. In short, quality of life means a lot.

Didn't realize he was 63. Makes more sense why he hasn't been courted more heavily. He does a fabulous job at Utah. His teams are physical, disciplined and play hard for him. He'd have done well in the SEC.

With USC and UCLA leaving the conference, won't all the other Pac12 schools, including Utah, take a substantial hit to revenue? Maybe not Whittingham but other Pac12 coaches might leave for greener pastures.

Wish Stoops would model KY off how his teams play at UTAH. Guy can Coach for sure and popular to most peoples opinions, West of the Mississippi plays football also.
