Why don't we block for punt returns?

They have reduced DeMornay El to Santino Panico. I was annoyed that he fair caught near the end of the game when he had a ten yard buffer before contact. Of course it was six guys with no Husker jerseys in the picture other than him. SMH.

Doesn't make sense (except if they were ready for a fake).

Really annoying since they don't even try to block the punt! Should at least go for the block or the return, but Read likes to go for neither I guess

I believe on multiple occasions, it was a 4th and short situation, and the defense was left on the field in the event of a fake, that was even the reason for the time out on one punt....dpe and MRI were both in the field at the same time...both happen to wear number 15. There was maybe only one or two punts that were legitimately returnable. I want dpe to do his magic as much as anyone, but in games like this, you have to be smart and not force things. The punt team and dpe will be fine, they were great last week, they'll be great next week.
