If we don’t face another ban because of the fact that we cleaned house it will be well worth it. I wish we still had Jurich, but was ready to move on past Pitino anyway.
We won't know for sure until it is all said and done. The NCAA could be like "Of course you fired everyone. Y'all's dumbasses were on probation." It's a move that can easily be seen through.
It wasn't done for this reason. But hypothetically, trading Jurich for one year of the basketball postseason would have been the modern day equivalent of selling Manhattan Island for $24...
While they made a mess of the handling of Jurich it was time for him to go. The plan of Jurich leaving wasn't the problem it was the haste in making it happen. Pitinio wasn't going to get the Sean Miller treatment and Miller wouldn't have been given the luxury either if their situations were reversed. That had to happen. Jurich was an obvious we are done with you time to move forward. The forcing out the program the problem is the haste and lack of awareness of doing it quickly.
At some point the NCAA has to re-evaluate how they view University that take action to resolve issue instead on penalizing for the infraction no matter what steps the University took. Here is what I would do in the FBI situation I would absolutely hammer Arizona, Auburn, and LSU. They all know their basketball programs intentionally broke rules and none of them have taken any action. At some coaches and AD need to understand you cheat your gone and quit entering into stupid contracts that force you to keep known cheaters. That is the only reason these coaches are still around because their contracts.

My point is Jurich wasn't going to survive the new leadership, it wasn't going to work. It was going to end no matter what the mistake was forcing him out. It was clear the new leadership wasn't going to let him operate the same way he had for 20 years. No one survives when new leadership and current leadership don't have the same philosophy. The FBI scandal gave them a reason.

If you can’t SEE the value that Tom Jurich added to our University then you need a new seeing eye dog. Of course TJ made mistakes as all human beings do but at the end of the day we are light years ahead of where we were 20 years ago. Both facilities and conference affiliation speak to that. I’m a supporter of Vince and think that basically he’s doing a good job.

TJ was a good AD that happened to also be a crook. Is what it is.
Tom was an amazing AD that did amazing things for our university, bros. I respect how he looked out for the schools best interest but it was time for him to go. Can’t have two scandals back to back involving the same program and not clean house. Supervision was part of his job.
