I will be the first to admit if I am wrong here, but we still haven't proven to beat Muschamp's mediocre teams.
Offense:
There is still very little known about this new found offense. It could end up being special, no one really knows. I am in no way convinced. It is hard to think even someone like Stoops would have 2 players who play as Snell and Johnson did, on the bench, for the most part, the first 2 games. We should keep in mind UTEP (who in their last 2 games have averaged 10.5 pts) put up 38 points on NMSU...38 points is the most UTEP has scored since last year when they put up 50 on NMSU at the beginning of the season. South Carolina's defense surprised me last weekend. They held East Carolina's offense to 15 pts and forced 4 turnovers. East Carolina scored 33 on NCState in a victory and 52 against a nobody the week before. Though USCjr struggled against MSU 2 weeks ago, I don't see UK getting more than 3 tds against the USC D. 3 tds will not get it done with our defense.
Defense:
Its horrifying. Maybe the worst in UK history. I mean to be honest a lot of HS teams could put up a couple TDs on this defense, if not more. We allowed NMSU to put up 42 points...NMSU...the same team UTEP held to 22 pts (UTEP has allowed 107 points the last 2 weeks, and at the end of last season allowed Old Dominion to put up 31 in a loss)...You cannot even put into words how bad this defense is. We made a mediocre, no, bad, offense look awesome. South Carolina is not good on offense but they will look good against us. USCjr puts up 30+.
Conclussion:
Troy beat NMSU 52-7...yes Troy DESTROYED them in Neal Brown's first year last year. I see Kentucky's offense having a decent day, while Kentucky's seemingly unfixable defense gets ran over. Turner gets his first TD of the season, maybe 2. While we likely make McIlwain look 50x better than he is (as usual). Johnson throws and runs for a TD and the run game never really gets going. We must remember we just allowed 42 to a nobody. I think it is another high scoring game for the opposing offense..35-20, we fail to beat another mediocre Muschamp team, and Stoops's seat gets hotter. Prayers for the Bama game.
