I will be the first to admit if I am wrong here, but we still haven't proven to beat Muschamp's mediocre teams.

Offense:
There is still very little known about this new found offense. It could end up being special, no one really knows. I am in no way convinced. It is hard to think even someone like Stoops would have 2 players who play as Snell and Johnson did, on the bench, for the most part, the first 2 games. We should keep in mind UTEP (who in their last 2 games have averaged 10.5 pts) put up 38 points on NMSU...38 points is the most UTEP has scored since last year when they put up 50 on NMSU at the beginning of the season. South Carolina's defense surprised me last weekend. They held East Carolina's offense to 15 pts and forced 4 turnovers. East Carolina scored 33 on NCState in a victory and 52 against a nobody the week before. Though USCjr struggled against MSU 2 weeks ago, I don't see UK getting more than 3 tds against the USC D. 3 tds will not get it done with our defense.

Defense:
Its horrifying. Maybe the worst in UK history. I mean to be honest a lot of HS teams could put up a couple TDs on this defense, if not more. We allowed NMSU to put up 42 points...NMSU...the same team UTEP held to 22 pts (UTEP has allowed 107 points the last 2 weeks, and at the end of last season allowed Old Dominion to put up 31 in a loss)...You cannot even put into words how bad this defense is. We made a mediocre, no, bad, offense look awesome. South Carolina is not good on offense but they will look good against us. USCjr puts up 30+.

Conclussion:
Troy beat NMSU 52-7...yes Troy DESTROYED them in Neal Brown's first year last year. I see Kentucky's offense having a decent day, while Kentucky's seemingly unfixable defense gets ran over. Turner gets his first TD of the season, maybe 2. While we likely make McIlwain look 50x better than he is (as usual). Johnson throws and runs for a TD and the run game never really gets going. We must remember we just allowed 42 to a nobody. I think it is another high scoring game for the opposing offense..35-20, we fail to beat another mediocre Muschamp team, and Stoops's seat gets hotter. Prayers for the Bama game.

My "breakdown" was mostly facts aside from the conclusion. So yes, i agree, I give them 3 thumbs down too. If you can spin those facts to be positive then you deserve a pat on the back from Stoops himself.

Some people are so desperate to find some sort of silver lining in that NMSU win. It's kind of pathetic, really.

SC is a better football team, not because they are anything special but because we are in a putrefying regression thanks to Mitch Barnhart and Mark Stoops.

Oh, and because literally and statistically we have the worst defense in the United States of America.

UK is giving up 43.6 points a game to CUSA and sun belt teams and to an SEC team averaging 28 points in games not played against our D. Until our D holds anyone under 40 I will believe it takes mid to upper 40's in points to give us a chance to win. We aren't scoring near that much against SC. Could see a 41-24 type win for SC which probably will be the last decent crowd of the year.

I think there is a good chance we'll win because Stoops is now desperate and we'll probably try pulling another cheap trick like the head sets one ...and then move on to another trick if thats not working

Will Muschamp is a certified moron when it comes to offense. Why USC would hire the man they helped put out of business is beyond me.

That being said he can coach defense. I believe our offense will have a harder time against their defense than their offense will have against our defense. This is where Gran has to get creative.

While I think we can score 30 or so on USC, with Johnson at QB that is, I am doubtful we can hold the Cocks to less than 30. To be fair we had 3 turnovers that led to 21 Aggie points, and the D did hold them to only 7 points in the 2nd half.
What is worrisome is that the dual threat QB for Carolina, McIlwain, is going to be a headache. It is the key game of the season thus far, and could be the difference in winning 5 games or only 3.

I think it will be a high scoring entertaining game & UK will win by a field goal. UK's putrid defense is only matched by how awful USC has been on offense - if you are actually interested in facts, not sky-is-falling woe is me ism.

We open favored by two. To think we will lose by two scores isn't crazy. All they have to do is line up and run and never do anything else.
