Why in the hell did K slow the pace to start the half after running them

I will defend K on this one. We do not have the horses to run up and down the whole time. We slowed it down, and at first, was passing up so-so shots for better shots while running the clock. All of a sudden, we could not break the press and took stupid shots. Yale could not miss and our defense went down a notch.

I'm with you Show, I get tired of hearing what K should or shouldn't do!
The G.O.A.T gets criticized every frickin game win or lose. It's just pathetic, one of the reasons I quit coaching. I don't go to other people's places of work and tell them how to do their damn job. Lay off of Coach K, everyone's gonna miss him when he's no longer on the sideline. Those that want adjustments can take their *** on over to UNX Tarholes!

It's just what K does. Love it or hate it - but you should expect it.

Wait, wait, wait, but, but, but, let me see if I can get this right:
1. It's a free country! He can say what he wants! (...but apparently your freedom doesn't matter.)
2. Coach K isn't perfect, y'know! He can make mistakes, too! (...and I'm just the person who knows how to fix all of them. I have dunked, after all.)
3. You can't handle disagreement! (...I, on the other hand, am clearly doing so well w/ that.)
4. No wonder you always get banned everywhere. (Oh, never mind, that one is just for me.)
5. We can agree to disagree. (I will respect your much more logical, reasonable opinion in exchange for your respecting my idiotic opinion.)
6. I've been a Duke fan forever, which gives me credibility. (Yet I like to ask questions about why K doesn't play Vrank more in preparation for next year in the middle of this year, and why playing Jeter at the 3, Obi at the 4, and Marshall at the 5 wouldn't fix all of our problems.)
7. I was at the game, so I can tell how it affected us in ways you can't. (TV's multiple camera angles and replays are nothing compared to my real time powers of observation from my one crappy nosebleed seat. I have dunked, after all.)
8. But just hear me out! (And if you don't agree w/ me, I will start a new thread about the same thing.)
9. Oh! It's the board attack dog! (B/c any dog that looks at me is attacking me. I'm more of a cat person... but they're scary, too. I'm more of a goldfish person.)
10. If you'd played the game ever before, you'd understand. (Did I mention I've dunked?)

well. the big issue i had was the inability to exploit the Yale press for easy buckets. Thats why the game got so close. Yale pressed us, and we had great difficulty breaking it because our guards are not great at ball control (good but not great). Then we had numbers going to the hoop and we didn't take easy shots.

But give the old coach credit - his defense change to the 1-3-1 with Ingram at the top, totally changed the game.

It's also possible k realized shooting 60% isn't likely the while game. If we just kept shooting the same shots you likely wouldve seen a similar comeback, maybe even faster.

I did learn that Derryck, Brandon and Grayson can break the press. Matt? Not so much. He can't be healthy.

Not to stir the pot, but I am not so sure Matt's game is a byproduct of the ankle as just a loss of confidence.. Was the wild pass to press row vs the press a result of a bad ankle or poor decision of getting trapped in corner and breaking his dribble prematurely??? Are the missed open 3s (bad misses) a result of the ankle or a protracted shooting slump...

I will say this- when he was playing yesterday he played some solid D and we held Mason down fairly well...Not giving up on the Texas jr, and still think he can help us offensively before year is out....
