Why is it a massive matchup?

After the Wisconsin vs Oregon game, the announcers gave a promo for the Duke Illinois game as a massive matchup? Why is a game between #3 and unranked teams considered a massive matchup? We are used to ESPN's Duke love fest, but it now appears it is contagious. Lol

Illinois is very good and probably should be ranked but they have been inconsistent lately. It will be the first test Duke has had outside Clemson/Louisville in 2 months.

Duke definitely hasn't had much in the way of a difficult conference schedule.

I'll volunteer this :

Illinois coach Brad Underwood, after watching Kentucky play Gonzaga, was inspired by the awesomeness of the intra conference scheduling, and thought it would be a great idea if they could get dUKe in madison square garden.

tHE kEnTucKY EFFECT

now, it will be a reality

Massive quad one opportunity for dUKe as well, since this will only be their 3rd such opportunity in the last 15 games, I think ? Yeesh.

massive for ESPN to hype, for sure, but I don't think it's gonna make much difference for them.

I’m thinking they have 2 or 3 guys out with injuries though.

It's massive because it's only the 3rd time this year Duke has played a decent team. They're 0-2. I'm not exaggerating much; I've never seen a 2 loss team at this stage of the year in a major conference with so few good wins.

Where is the game being played, if at Duke hell the Celtic's would have a hard time beating them with the officiating they get, some where in the state of Illinois then it could be a tight game.
