Why is this loss so much worse than the others?

I read these posts and it reminds me of basketball. Did everyone get amnesia? We've been terrible at football my entire life---every summer a few people say "we have a new OC, a new Head Coach, a new QB, or we get the whole defense back" etc etc, and every year we're awful.
Then, all of a sudden this year, we're supposed to be decent?

Nothing is going to change until you hire a HUGE name coach that can recruit top talent. When we hire a Mark Richt, a Dabo Sweeney, Urban Meyer, etc...nothings going to change.

It's bad because we were up 35-10 and then completely **** the bed afterwards. You almost have to try to blow a 25 lead in any sport.

It hurts because of all the anticipation, all the build up, they hype, and promise of a much improved, much more talented team this upcoming season. New coaches, the philosophy, new facilities, A recruiting room!!! and some newly signed talent.

Finally, it's here....."it's fooootbaaaaallll time in the bluuuueeegraaassss...." we go out and score 35 bigguns, only to see the bottom fall out like the same old cats we're so used to seeing.

Because this season is likely over now. Ceiling is probably 5-7 and that's assuming we go 5-1 in all the 'winnable' games - MO, VU, SC, MSU, Austin Peay and NMSU. From what I saw Saturday we'll lose at least one of those and probably two.

AL, UL, TN, GA and FL will destroy us, barring a miracle.

Because we had the game in the bag and blew it------not an easy task.

And yes, Mark, Dabo and Urban are standing in line waiting for mitch's call.

And what ever happened to Saban, he isn't bad.

Because us true fans unlike @jauk11 are getting tired of this crap every year. It's pathetic and annoying.

I think that the season probably being lost so early is the worst part.

I always thought that NEXT year would be our year, but this loss and HOW it happened may be the last straw for me.

Obviously, I'll get excited again at some point, but it'll take a lot for that to happen.

Because with every coach who "failed" there came a loss that seriously raised the questions: "Are we going in the right direction; is this the right guy for the job"?

That loss might have been yesterday.

Agreed, we thought Stoops in year 4 had LEARNED something by now as a Head Coach.

We thought maybe he had LEARNED how to win and crush an opponent when they're down.

But no, he's obviously clueless and ran off Neal Brown, Dawson, Towles, Reese Phillips and others...

We thought Stoops MIGHT BE the savior of UK football with the improved recruiting, facilities, etc., But he is Fool's Gold.

Actually, I was starting to get a bit nervous after the losses to Vanderbilt and Louisville last year. Both were mediocre teams, and a win against either meant a bowl. With that said, next year is going to be the do or die for this regime, not this year, and not after Week 1 in any event.

But every year the anticipation and build up and promises are in our face. This is nothing new, we're UK...where football sucks.

Until our head coach is an Urban Meyer or Mark Richt, we aint chit.
