Earlier this season, some fans were lamenting the music that fans were being subjected to! Why not go "Old School" and offer fans a rendetion of "I WONDER HOW THE OLD FOLKS ARE AT HOME", I Wonder If They Miss ME While I'm Gone, I Wonder If They Pray For Their Boy That Went Away -OH I WONDER HOW THE OLD FOLKS ARE AT HOME!!! YOU CAN SEE THE FIELDS OF
BLUEGRASS WHERE I'VE ROAMED ETC
TOO HOOKIE (???) Oh Well Just A thought!!!

There has been talk that the players prefer rap and hip hop, but I'm hearing that Smith prefers the older Nashville sound, especially Conway Twitty. Since he's still on the team, give him what he wants . . . . and then pull Hoak's redshirt midway thru the Austin Peay game.

As long as it is high energy, just about anything works for me. Most of all, I think they need to look at using the PA feed to help the band. In certain situations, I think the PA should be playing the band amplified just a bit. Not constantly, but certainly for post-score or turnover fight song, timeout drumline work, etc. It would add something, I think.

I am 51 years old, they can play whatever music the players want to hear. You can sit in the stands and watch the energy that pours thru the players from the sideline to the players on the field to the fans in the stands. I can not, could not stand any of that hokie howdown BS. I am from Kentucky and I don't like it that way. I like the law and order sound on penalties on the visiting team, love the energy after we score, it's all good. Anybody complaining can sit home and watch lawrence welk reruns on youtube.

but it is a big part of our history, if not the biggest defining part of half of our state. Everyone from Eastern Kentucky knows someone who worked in the mines. Entire towns are built on what it brought to the area. I bet you more mines will open this year. There is a big need for coal in other countries, and most of that will be provided by us.

any new structure being built requires coal unless they are made of wood, any steel to be stronger requires coal, that includes all automobiles, It don't just keep the lights on, it keeps the world manufacturing.

If you think the sounds, music and overall energy in Commonwealth is anything but an improvement and a boost to our players, just realize you are wrong and deal with it or get on board. When this stuff plays and the players are bouncing around and getting "hype" it creates energy. Something we desperately need.

I don't listen to rap, I don't particularly like it, but damn if it hasn't been obvious the players love to hear it on the field. Keep it up CWS.

Also, the law and order sound cracks me up. I love it!

And the coal whistle.

I love me some Kentucky football.

Agree and get rid of the First Down Kentucky after every first down.

Are you kidding? I hope you're very much in the minority on that. First Down Kentucky is one of the best things we do.

STOP COMPLAINING! The atmosphere in CWS is improving. It desperately needed to. I bet you also hate it when kids get on your lawn...

I personally don't like it, and I don't care one bit for kids in my lawn. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

I absolutely hate the law and order sound and that rock beat they play on 3rd downs when we're on defense... also they play some garbage like black eyed peas and sean Kingston. id be hard pressed to find 5 people I know who could get hyped over any of that.

I admit some of the tunes are not music to my ears at my age, but the players seem to enjoy it and that is what matters most. And the coal whistle is one of the best additions to the atmosphere in Commonwealth since I started attending in the mid-eighties. It is annoying as hell, which must drive our opponents insane. I love it.

If you looked hard enough you would have found roughly 58,000 people who were hyped over it. Go away Grover Grouch.

Clever. at least 3 people sitting within arms reach of me voiced their dislike for the law and order thing. id be willing to bet my first born child that not one player on the team has black eyed peas or sean kingston in their headphones to hype them up pre game. Its 'family friendly' but no one outside of little kids or parents is amused by that music

I made the suggestion because of the refrain You Can See The Fields Of Blue Grass Where I'VE ROAMED"!!!!!
I didn't think that Blue Kentucky Rain by Elvis would offer any [positive results!!!
You never know.
I think this being played as the 4th quarter ended would be fitting last sat.

I just don't think most posters have read the original post and a few of the responses correctly. And politics???

On the bright side, someone mentioned Lawrence Welk. That Minnesota legend was one rockin' Norwegian,m BIATCH!

I also don't like the "First Down Kentucky". Been going to games for quite a few years and didn't care for it much back then either. It was really bad during the Curry years when the offense was so anemic that two or three first downs where the highlight of the game. Seemed as though we were celebrating the few times we got those during the game.

IMO it sounds kind or weird on TV. I know that UT does some kind of stupid thing too, but for some reason I don't notice it as much on TV.
