Poindexter. Done and done.
Has nothing to do with woke. Fitzgerald’s teams were awful the last 2 years when he coached. His defenses were especially atrocious. Fitzgerald is done. That’s why his name is not on the DC hotlist.
Fitz has shown himself to be arrogant and dismissive of Penn State. Don't want a clash of coaching egos spoiling the environment/team chemistry.

Hazing is illegal in the State of Illinois
Hazing is against the policy of Northwestern. The policy specifies that acts of hazing, or failure to report acts of hazing, may cause individuals or groups to face disciplinary sanctions up to and including removal from the University.
Hazing took place in the NW football program while Fitzgerald was head coach. It appears that it was rather widespread, and as such a failure under his leadership.
Despite what you indicated, there is nothing woke about hazing.
If I recall correctly, Fitzgerald sued NW in October for illegally breaching his employment contract and an oral contract. As long as that suit is unresolved, I don't think that any university will be entertaining the idea of employing Fitzgerald.

That is probably who Nick Saban would hire....Saban has done it many times and won many titles....Pat is a proven great coach who needs a restart and gets the most from his players.
Saban gets a pass on “rehabbing” coaches. PSU would be scrutinized unfairly. So pass.
I always find it funny that we say you can’t promote from within at psu. Psu academics does it. Osu promoted their oc to head coach and it is fine. But at psu football. Oh we can’t promote from within.

Do a national search of JF wants but to me Poindexter is the logical choice. Keeps continuity and make Connor LB. If JF hires a different DC than Poindexter I would expect Poindexter to jump ship as well.
I agree. At this point, I expect it to be Poindexter. I assume it has to be posted for a certain amount of time before it can be filled and that’s the reason why we haven’t heard anything yet.

Alleged hazing at NW listed below. Decide for yourself if this gets Fitz cancelled forever as a college coach.
"Running": A punishment that "consisted of 8-10 upperclassmen, dressed in masks, holding down a player, and dry humping the player in a dark locker room."
"Shrek claps": When "upperclassmen on the team would run around" a player who made a mistake in practice "while clapping their hands above the head" of the teammate.
"Carwash": A "tradition" that consisted of "players lining up, standing naked, and spinning around the entrance of the showers so that all freshman players were forced to rub up against the line of men to get to their showers."
"Naked center-quarterback exchange": Another "tradition" that called for freshmen to execute a routine center-quarterback snap while both were naked.
"Gatorade shake challenge": When freshmen were forced to drink as many Gatorade shakes as possible in 10 minutes, and if they refused they would be subjected to "running."
My hope is it is someone with the same defensive philosophy as Diaz. Truth be told he brought an aggressive, physical, style of defense we haven't seen since Sandusky.
