Here is a youtube link for today:

Not a political post. A where to seek guidance post.

edit notable quotes: “Right now, we know of only 7 mass gatherings planned this weekend. That would be 42 deaths,” Gov. Beshear said. “If the same thing happened that happened in Hopkins County. So I’m willing to make an unpopular decision whatever it means for me in the future if I can save 42 people.”

My wife’s been taking groceries, etc. to a neighbor with Covid19. She was the 10th citizen from our county to be diagnosed, along with three others from her church.

Just sharing information. Not arguing politics or religion with anyone.

Our neighbor is quarantined but appears fully recovered.

Ironically the church in Hopkins County was the church his dad attended. They were from there.

Were there 6 deaths associated with that Church? I knew one had had some diagnoses, but did not know they’d had deaths.

[Edit: I found it:]

“We believe there are at least 54 cases that have come out of (the church revival) and six deaths," Gov. Beshear said. "That is not a statement on their leaders or communities at all. It just shows what can happen when we don’t observe these recommendations.”

[I don’t do FB or Twitter, but I’m a googlin’ fool!]

Meanwhile, it’s perfectly fine to gather at Lowes anytime you want to buy flowers.

Wrong. No one is supposed to be gathering for anything...not even funerals.

Stores that are open, are open (or supposed to be open) for essential services...pretty
obvious people are not following the rules in place which is why KY State Police is forced to
go car to car today, because people don't have enough sense to do what is right.

I agree stores should be roping off certain areas to remove the temptation.

Until Andy starts adding useful graphs showing positives by test date, total tests by date, #of hospitalizations/discharges by day Im not sure what good his daily press conferences are doing. Its just the same stuff everyday. He wants to brag about how KY is lower than most states but the figures show we are 40th in tests per capita, 41st in positives, and middle of the pack in deaths. Nothing special seems to be going on here.

The same old Philly/St Louis and projected deaths were fine until we had useful data on the state level to show, and that should have happened a week ago.

Tell that to the dozens of flower-worshippers I walked amongst at Lowes yesterday.

I love how flowers have become the rallying cry for people who disagree with the governor. We have a huge Lowe’s. Is it busy. Kind of. Any busier that normal April’s. No. Most flowers are outside. Spread out. Mulch is in the parking lot. Outside checkout. Gives people a reason to be outside in their yards working. What’s the problem

Flowers are simply an easily understood example. The problem is King Andy’s proclamation states that “non-life sustaining” businesses (he specifically names florists) shall be closed.

While it may give people a reason to be outside, purchasing and planting flowers is hardly life-sustaining, at least by any normal definition. Allowing one business to sell flowers while simultaneously not allowing another, is arbitrary and unfair.

Because if one entity/business has to follow the rules — and have their economic throat slit — then EVERY entity/business should have to as well. It’s patently unfair to allow one business to profit from the sale of “non-life sustaining” items while depriving another the right to do so.

Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander ATKOT.

King Andy. You are obviously so biased you can’t be taken seriously.

You know something? You’re absolutely right, I was being disrespectful. I should have referred to him by his proper title, instead of a silly nickname.

Henceforth I shall use King Andrew.

The Prez wants to get back to business. Selling gardening stuff may not be a threat.
It may even help people thru this. Gardening is mind expanding.
I hope your business comes back. REALLY.
